Harvest of helping hands for Brad Yager’s family

Over 20 neighbors, friends, and area farmers flocked to
the fields of Brad Yager, the young area farmer killed when a combine head
fell on him Oct. 12.

There were more workers than work, as the five huge combines,
several stock choppers, and finally, the plows, stripped the crops from
the fields and laid them black for the winter.

Said Shelly Reddemann of Munson’s Elevator, “The last
load of grain came about 3:30 p.m. Wednesday.”

Rallying around another farm family in time of need is
something that is not new to this area, say local farmers, as they recall
other times and places.

Mildred Yager, Brad’s mother, said they had encouraged
him to get out of farming, because it is so dangerous.
