Lester Prairie woman arrested in drug bustA Lester Prairie woman, Denise Hanes, 33, was arrested Tuesday and charged with the felony crime of possession of a controlled substance in the fifth degree. The Southwest Metro Drug Task Force, McLeod County Sheriff's Department, and Lester Prairie Police Department executed a search warrant at a trailer home in the 900 block of Second Avenue South about 11 a.m. A substance appearing to be methamphetamine was obtained. Hanes was arrested and taken to the McLeod County jail by Lester Prairie police. The maximum penalty for a conviction of a controlled substance crime in the fifth degree is up to five years in prison, a fine of $10,000, or both. "If any citizens of Lester Prairie have a concern with drugs in their neighborhood, they should contact the Lester Prairie Police Department. Your name will be kept confidential if requested," Officer Robert Carlson said. |
