Long-time Winsted city clerk resignsBy Mick Bates Long-time City Clerk/Treasurer Betty Zachmann tendered her resignation to a reluctant Winsted City Council during its meeting Tuesday. Zachmann has served the community of Winsted for 29 years. She will be working part-time elsewhere, she said. Mayor Don Guggemos lightheartedly voted not to accept her resignation while Council Member Bonnie Quast said, “Betty knows more about the law than anyone I know.” Zachmann’s resignation is effective July 6. Police dept to hire part-time officerPolice Chief Mike Henrich presented a request to allow Brenda Conzet of Buffalo to go through licensing with the Winsted Police Department and if successful, be hired as a part-time officer. If she gets licensed, Conzet also intends to work part-time for the Lester Prairie Police Department. The council gave its consent. |
