Howard Lake clinic to have full-time doctor

Howard Lake welcomes its own full-time physician, Dr. Steven Soneral, this week.

Soneral’s job is to help people, and he has found Howard Lake is the town to help him do just that.

He is now the full-time physician at the Howard Lake Ridgeview clinic, after serving both the Winsted and the Howard Lake clinics since October.

“I really welcome the opportunity to practice in a rural community,” Soneral said.

Soneral and his wife, who is working locally as a professor of science, moved to the area a couple months ago.

“It’s a wonderful fit for both my wife and myself in our career goals,” Soneral said.

They both like the community, and find Howard Lake is the perfect place for them to be right now.

Soneral came to the area after completing his residency at the University of Wisconsin Department of Family Medicine in Madison, Wis.

Before his residency, he completed medical school at Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine.

“I offer the full scope of family care from pediatric to geriatrics, including obstetrical care,” Soneral said.

After today, Soneral will be practicing exclusively at the Howard Lake office, and Dr. Roberta Midwinter will be practicing exclusively at the Winsted office.

Prior to this change, both doctors served both locations.

Midwinter had been serving as doctor for both clinics for a long time, prior to Soneral’s coming.

Soneral will be working at the clinic in Howard Lake four days a week, Monday through Wednesday, and Friday.

“I am very excited to be serving the Howard Lake area. Both Howard Lake and Winsted have given me a warm welcome,” Soneral said.
