HLWW FFA takes second at state

The Howard Lake-Waverly-Winsted FFA chapter has once again earned high honors at a state competition recently.

The HLWW FFA Food Science and Technology team placed second out of 14 teams at state competition Jan. 11. This is a big feat because it is the first time the team has entered this competition.

Team members are Christine Bobrowske, Kim Juncewski, Doreen Lorentz, and Kayla Schanus.

Individually Lorentz took fourth, Bobrowske earned sixth, Schanus took thirteenth, and Juncewski earned seventeenth.

“There were six different parts to the competition. The written exam, complaint letter, photo ID, sensory, product development, and product presentation,” said Bobrowske.

“The product we made was a breakfast burrito called Holy Moley Monday and was made by the company, Bobo Foods,” Bobrowske added.
