In an age when online banking is becoming the norm, Kensington Bank of Cokato takes pride in its customer service and person-to-person interactions.
“So many of the other banks are pushing customers to online and mobile banking,” said Dan Robertson, president of the Cokato branch.
While Kensington Bank offers many of the same convenient products and services, it also wants to see its customers face-to-face.
Kensington Bank’s Cokato branch has 20 employees to assist customers with an array of personal banking needs, from student checking accounts to home mortgages and retirement accounts.
“We have the size and the capability to do a lot of good things,” Robertson said.
In addition to offering checking accounts geared to students and adults with no minimum balance required, Kensington bank has a fully-staffed lending department. This includes a full-time mortgage lender, two full-time commercial and ag lenders, and three administrative assistants to support the lenders.
On the business side, Kensington Bank offers commercial checking accounts and health savings accounts (HSA) for employees.
HSAs allow employees with high-deductible health insurance plans to deposit money pre-tax from their paycheck and use those funds to pay for future medical expenses.
To get around any geographical barriers for businesses, Kensington Bank offers remote deposit capture so that businesses out of the area can scan checks to have deposited.
Though Kensington Bank prides itself on friendly, personal customer service, it also understands customers’ needs for accessibility.
Like the bigger banks, Kensington Bank offers online banking, allowing customers the ease of transferring money between their accounts 24/7. In addition, mobile banking provides customers the convenience of managing accounts from their smart phone.
