WRIGHT, CARVER COUNTIES, MN – Two area townships have updates this week:

Woodland Twp. recycling changes
Woodland Township’s recycling day and the number of pickups per month will change starting in February, Clerk Gloria Janikula noted. Recycling will be picked up the second and fourth Thursdays of each month. As a result, the upcoming pickup dates will be Wednesday, Jan. 30, Thursday, Feb. 14, and Thursday, Feb. 28.

Westside Skydivers interested in property in Hollywood Twp.
Carver County recently notified Hollywood Township of an application from Westside Skydivers for an interim use permit, Clerk Judy Warner reported.

“The applicant is interested in purchasing property in Hollywood Township and moving its skydiving operation to this property,” she noted. The township will be reviewing and discussing the application at its meeting Monday, Feb. 11 at 7:30 p.m.

At the township’s January meeting, newly elected officials were sworn in. Kent Kassulker was re-elected for four more years as a supervisor, and Warner was elected as township clerk. Jim Burns will serve as the 2013 chairman. Hollywood Township’s annual meeting will take place Tuesday, March 12 at 7:30 p.m.
