LESTER PRAIRIE, MN – Lester Prairie may get its fireworks back for its next Prairie Days celebration.

At a meeting Oct. 27, Prairie Days Committee members decided to make the fireworks part of the annual celebration again, and to ask for financial assistance from the public.

Prairie Days Committee member Troy Feltmann said donation buckets for the fireworks display will be placed at local businesses within the next several weeks. Feltmann said a fireworks display typically costs $5,000, at a minimum.

A fireworks committee has been put in place to organize the effort. Luke Meyer has been named committee chair. Paul Logelin will serve as an advisor.

An effort to find business sponsors for the fireworks show will begin shortly.

Anyone having questions, or wishing to donate to the project may contact Feltmann at 320-282-6520, or Prairie Days chairperson Melissa Williams at 320-282-3816.
