LESTER PRAIRIE, MN Dec. 29, 2019 at approximately 7:34 a.m., the Lester Prairie Police Department responded to a harassment restraining order violation in progress in the 100 block of Elm St. N., according to a statement released by Lester Prairie Police Chief Robert Carlson.
Law enforcement officers arrived and found an adult male with a shotgun wound to the head outside the front door of the residence.
“It appears at this point to be self-inflicted, but, because of unusual circumstances, the incident remains under investigation,” according to the statement.
The un-named adult male is in critical but stable condition, and, depending on his condition, charges will be pending, according to the statement.
The Lester Prairie Police Department is being assisted by the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension, the McLeod County Sheriff’s Office, Winsted Police Department, Lester Prairie Fire Department, and Ridgeview Ambulance.
