It’s best to find cancer early
From: Brian S. Danielson, Litchfield
My name is Brian and I am a two-time cancer survivor, although the cancers were many years apart.
On my last cancer, prostate, I had just gone to the doctor for some allergy pills, and he suggested that I have a PSA test just as a precautionary check for prostate cancer.
I thought there was nothing wrong, but went ahead with the simple blood test. I was told the count was a little high. I had another PSA test in 10 days and the count went up half of a point.
The next step was a biopsy and I found out that I had prostate cancer. I stared out the window of the surgeon’s office for a couple of minutes not even hearing him talk. When I settled down a little, he gave me 24 hours to make a decision, so I decided to have the prostate removed; that was done in October of 2000. Today my PSA count is very low and I am cancer free.
I also am in my third year for Relay for Life and try to help there. I never thought I had prostate cancer until the doctor gave me a routine test for it. I could have gone on for years without ever knowing.
So the point of my story is to have yourself checked and screened for all types of cancer. It’s best to find it early and not wait too long and find that it has spread.
You may not have cancer, but I express to everyone to see your doctor and have the necessary tests to find out if you do. We only have one life, don’t let cancer take it.

Bill will end secrecy of money system
From: Robyn Richardson, Litchfield
For 30 years the Republican congressman from Texas, Ron Paul, has been preaching his idea of strict fiscal responsibility and warning that every economic downturn in the past century has been due to the Federal Reserve’s inflationary policies.
The rederal reserve, which is no more federal than Federal Express, is in essence a private banking cartel. In 1982, the supreme court ruled that the federal reserve is “independent, privately owned and locally controlled corporations with insufficient “federal government control over ‘detailed physical performance’ and ‘day-to-day operations.” Lewis v. United States, 680 F.2d 1239 (1982)
In 1950, the Accounting and Auditing Act was passed which prevents the federal reserve from being audited by Congress in section 31, USC 714(b).
This means the feds can use our tax dollars any way they wish without any obligation to tell us how they are using it. HR 1207, recently introduced to congress by Ron Paul, would repeal the U.S. code and legally force the feds to open their books and become accountable to “We the people.”
Why is this important?
Since the federal reserve’s inception in 1913, the dollar has been devalued 95 percent, and in 2009 alone they have piled up almost $10 trillion worth of debt in bailouts and loans.
The good news is that many Americans are starting to demand more oversight because they are outraged over the lack of transparency and misuse of funds. However, there are special interests that are very powerful and do not want this legislation to pass.
Currently HR 1207 has 49 co-sponsors with both Democrat and Republican support. The bill can be read in less than five minutes and does not contain any pork (www.govtrack.us/congress/billtext.xpd?bill=h111-1207).
Both MN Congresswoman Michele Bachman (R), 6th District; Congressmen Collin Peterson (D), 7th District; and Erik Paulson (R), 3rd District are co-sponsors of H.R.1207.
As of this writing, Congressman Timothy Walz, John Kline, Keith Ellison, James Oberstar, and Congresswoman Betty McCollum do not support this bill.
Don’t you think we deserve to know how our tax dollars are being spent? HR 1207 is our chance to put a stop to the unaccountable and shrouded in secrecy fiat money system once and for all.
