This event offers all the usual events associated with a community festival – live music, a Sunday parade, and ball tournaments – but adds a twist, such as its Polka Mass Saturday in the park, and other fun things to celebrate the rich Polish and German heritage of Silver Lake. More than one quarter of families in Silver Lake have Polish roots, which is true for its German heritage, too.
Other events include the royalty program, crafts, kids’ games, softball/volleyball tournaments, a classic car show, mini-tractor pull, Saturday evening Polka Mass, food, refreshments and, of course, the Sunday afternoon parade.
Events kick off Friday with the street dance. Saturday is a full day, with the craft fair and flea market, classic car show, mini-tractor pull, and Polka Mass in the park.
Sunday features the parade, the queen’s reception and royalty program, and street dance.
