WINSTED WOMEN'S EXPO
Winsted hosts bonanza of information, fun for women

In mid-spring, the Women’s Expo takes place at the Blue Note in Winsted, featuring an array of booths, food, and fun for women.

The event is hosted by the Winsted Area Chamber of Commerce.

“The expo promotes local businesses and all businesses that support the local residents,” member Mary Neff said.

With a wealth of information on a variety of services, there is definitely something for everyone at the Winsted’s Women’s Expo.

Recently, 74 vendors handed out free samples with their business cards, and catalogs. Also, 30 door prizes were announced throughout the morning.

There were more than 500 visitors attending, representing 30 communities.

The committee which coordinates the Women’s Expo has received praise from both vendors and guests alike.

“A very good job of promoting and very organized,” said Arlis Feser, Qigong Practitioner from Hutchinson and one of the vendors last year. “I have been to several expos in the surrounding areas and must say this is well attended, and well worth the time to come. Good variety.”

The expo committee was delighted with all the great feedback from vendors that were pleased at the turnout and how well the expo went last year. “Many wanted to sign up already for next year,” said Mary Neff, of the chamber.

Recently, the McLeod County Food Shelf received 386 pounds in food donations and $60, which was a lot more than the previous year’s expo food donations.
