Wright County Dairy picks new royalty

New dairy princesses were chosen to represent Wright County’s American Dairy Association recently including one of Waverly’s own, Bridget Boehlke.

The banquet and coronation was held at Annandale High School March 24.

The banquet was catered by Marie Fitzsimmons of Dassel which included ice cream for dessert.

Master of ceremonies was Jim Raymond of Howard Lake. Raymond and his wife are retired from dairy farming but are still raising heifers.

The reigning princesses were Jessica Gapinski of Maple Lake, JoLee Swearingen of Buffalo, Andrea Neumann of Annandale, and Brittani Boehlke of Waverly.

The new princesses crowned were Bridget Boehlke of Waverly, Meghan Pawelk of Maple Lake, Andrea Neumann of Annandale, and Kelsey Kolles of Otsego.

The first event the new princesses will be attending is the statewide dairy promotion training seminar and Princess Kay of the Milky Way selection event at the College of St. Benedict in St. Joseph, Minn. May 18 through May 20.

Meeker County crowns three princesses

Meeker County Dairy Princesses are Danielle Heuer of Litchfield, Jill Warren of Watkins, and Jennifer Becker of Eden Valley.

Sibley County crowns princesses

Sibley County recently crowned three princesses were crowned and five ambassadors March 19. Sibley dairy princesses are Lynn Farber, daughter of Jon and Cheryl of Green Isle, Cheryl Petzel, daughter of Curtis and Judy of Arlington, and Kayla Kramer, daughter of Gary and Arlene of Gibbon. The princesses and ambassadors will promote dairy products through parades and other appearances throughout the next year. The princess can also attend the state dairy princess program in May, where 12 Princess Kay of the Milky Way finalists will be named; Princess Kay will be crowned at the Minnesota State Fair.

McLeod County crowns dairy princesses

For the first time ever, all six candidates were crowned as 2007-08 McLeod County dairy princesses March 24 at the McLeod County Dairy Banquet. In the past, the dairy royalty has consisted of five princesses. The six princesses are: front - Maemie Hoese, Cheryl Konerza, Kelly Riemenschneider; back - Alison Benson, Amber Wilkens, and Megan Matthews. Megan Matthews was awarded Miss Congeniality, as well.

Carver County dairy princesses crowned

Crowned during the 55th annual Carver County Dairy Day Dinner in Waconia April 13 were Amy Esselman of Hamburg, Chelsey Buesgens of Cologne, Rebecca Otto of Norwood-Young America, and Kari Hoen of Cologne.
