|SPECIAL SCHOOL BOARD MEETING
Monday February 4, 2013
High School Media Center
The February 4, 2013 Special School Board meeting of the Howard Lake-Waverly-Winsted ISD #2687 was called to order at 6:03pm. by Chairman Schaible. After the pledge of allegiance, roll was taken with the following members present: Schaible, Kocher, Smith, Weibel, Tintes, Wiech, and Heuer. Also present were Superintendent Brad Sellner, and Board Secretary Marilyn Greeley.
(Item IV) Tintes asked to discuss meeting times. Schaible added under new business, item B-Board Time. Wiech motioned to approve the agenda with the changes; Heuer seconded; passed unanimously.
(Item V) There were no questions or comments from visitors.
(Item VI) Wiech motioned to approve the consent agenda which included the resignation of Megan Forcier as a Language Facilitator, effective February 8, 2013; the employment of Diane Odenbrett as a part time food service assistant at the high school starting January 28, 2013, replacing Deb McAlpine, and Charlene Baumann as the part time (2hrs. per day) food service assistant at the middle school starting February 4, 2013, replacing Stephanie Ryks; Tintes seconded; passed unanimously.
(Item VII, Subd. A) The board discussed a building project and reviewed several options. The consensus of the board was to move forward with option D1. The board also discussed how many questions should be on the ballot and in what configuration. The consensus of the board was to gather information for a possible two question ballot, with a potential election date of May 23, 2013. The board also discussed a contract or project manager for a building project, and asked for more information about each option.
(Item VII, Subd. B) Schaible asked if we want to put a time limit on meetings. Each board member gave their opinion. The board asked if we can find out from Amy Carlson in Human Resourses, if the system provides for meetings to be entered hourly, and we can discuss at the February meeting.
Weibel motioned to adjourn at 8:58 p.m; Smith seconded; passed unanimously
