Lester Prairie City Council Minutes


Pursuant to public notice, the Lester Prairie City Council met in special session on Monday, April 19, 2004. Mayor Eric Angvall called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m.

The purpose of said special session was to allow public input regarding the facility plan for a wastewater treatment expansion project. Mayor Angvall opened the public hearing at 7:00 p.m.

Representatives from the City’s engineering firm, Short Elliott Hendrickson, Inc. provided information regarding the conditions of the existing facility, the reason for the expansion, review of the projected flows and loads as well as the Crow River discharge effluent limits. Also noted were what treatment option alternatives were considered, the advantages of using the existing site and why that option was being recommended. Estimated plant expansion costs, operation and maintenance costs as well as potential user costs for debt service and additional operation and maintenance costs were discussed. Lastly, the project schedule (timetable) was reviewed.

Those in attendance wishing to ask questions, make comments, etc. were allowed to do so.

Being no further comments or discussion, Mayor Angvall closed the public hearing and adjourned the meeting at 7:55 p.m.
