May 14, 2013
The Lester Prairie City Council met in regular session on Tuesday, May 14, 2013. Mayor Heimerl called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m.
Motion – Foust; Second – Messer; Carried – Unanimously; To accept and approve the April Minutes as submitted.
Motion – Angvall; Second – Adams-Bruins; Carried – Unanimously; To accept and approve the April Treasurer’s report as submitted.
General consensus of the City Council was to request Mr. Kunkel attend the June City Council meeting to clarify the equipment needed, explain the process, and options (for audio visual equipment to record city council meetings).
General consensus of the City Council was to not include ceiling insulation in the city hall renovation project.
Motion – Messer; Second – Adams-Bruins; Carried – Unanimously; To make the changes to the City Hall Renovation Project specifications as suggested, prepare a final form of specifications, and seek quotes for the June meeting.
Motion – Angvall; Second – Heimerl; Carried – Unanimously; To submit an application to the Planning and Zoning Commission for the rezoning of the property, located on Oak Street North that houses the maintenance garage, from an R1 to a B1 District.
Motion – Heimerl; Second – Foust; Carried – Unanimously; To allow the Ambassadors to use city hall, at no charge, on May 29th.
Councilman Angvall introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: ORDINANCE NO. 303 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER, VOTE REQUIRED FOR AMENDMENTS The foregoing motion was duly seconded by Councilmember Messer and following discussion thereon, a vote was taken.
Mayor Heimerl declared Ordinance No. 303 adopted by a unanimous vote this 14th day of May, 2013.
Motion – Angvall; Second – Heimerl; Carried – Unanimously; To not waive the statutory tort liability limits for the City.
Motion – Heimerl; Second – Angvall; Carried – Unanimously; To authorize the City Clerk and Maintenance Department to contact the second candidate for the Seasonal Maintenance/Mowing position and see if the individual would like the job. If so, he should be hired.
General consensus of the City Council was to allow the city office to be closed on Friday, July 5th.
Motion – Messer; Second – Foust; Carried – To have April Lee and Ana Hartwig serve as co-managers at the swimming pool and to increase April Lee’s compensation to $ 10.50 per hour.
Motion – Angvall; Second – Messer; Carried – Unanimously; To pay the claims as submitted.
Mayor Heimerl adjourned the meeting at 9:07 p.m.
