Lester Prairie City Council Minutes
|Lester Prairie City Council
August 19, 2015
Pursuant to public notice, the Lester Prairie City Council met in special session on Wednesday, August 19, 2015. Mayor Angvall called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m.
The purpose of said special session was to work on the 2016 Budget and any other business deemed necessary.
Officer Mark Thiry was present to introduce Officer Joshua Fahey to the City Council. Officer Fahey was promoted to fulltime status and is nearing completion of the field training. He should be working on his own in approximately a week.
Clerk Pawelk presented an overview of the 2016 budget as drafted.
General consensus of the City Council was that more need has to be focused on the “needs” rather than “wants” and to maintain and improve what the City currently has before any more additional projects are taken on.
General consensus of the City Council was they wanted the new office furniture to be similar in material, style and of good quality material for both new offices. It was suggested to also check into office furniture by Herman Miller through Interum.com.
General consensus of the City Council was not to approve either trail mapping or signage at this time. Councilmembers felt they needed additional information regarding both requests, another quote should be obtained for the sign and those two items would cost approximately 7% of the donations obtained by the committee.
Mayor Angvall adjourned the meeting at 9:05 p.m.
