The Lester Prairie City Council met in regular session on Tuesday, July 9th, 2019. Mayor Angvall called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m.
Motion – Messer; Second – Dahl; Carried – Unanimously; To accept and approve the June Minutes as submitted.
Motion – Dahl; Second – Messer; Carried – Unanimously; To accept and approve the June Treasurer’s Report as submitted.
Motion – Meyer; Second – Messer; Carried – Unanimously; To approve the purchase of a Breathing Air Compressor with bottle at the total cost of $ 24,929.00 from Fire Safety USA. The unit will be paid with two donations to be received and the remaining funds due will be taken from the Fire Department Equipment Fund.
Motion – Meyer; Second – Messer; Carried – Unanimously; To accept and approve the six month actual budget as presented.
Motion – Messer; Second – Dahl; Carried – Unanimously; To have the Planning & Zoning Commission conduct a variance public hearing for the property located at 100 Maple Street South.
Councilman Dahl introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 23-19 RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF LESTER PRAIRIE AUTHORIZING THE LESTER PRAIRIE ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY TO PURCHASE A PARCEL OF REAL ESTATE FROM MCLEOD COUNTY The foregoing motion was duly seconded by Councilman Messer and following discussion thereon, a vote was taken. Mayor Angvall declared Resolution No. 23-19 adopted by a unanimous vote this 9th day of July, 2019.
Motion – Dahl; Second – Messer; Carried – Unanimously; To have the Mayor provide a letter of support to McLeod County Parks so they may submit an application for the Parks and Trails Legacy Fund grant.
Motion – Dahl; Second – Meyer; Carried – Unanimously; To inform McLeod County Planning Advisory Commission the City does not have any objections, at this time, to the Conditional Use Permit Application 19-14 as submitted by Tony Hand, to construct an accessory building greater than 2,400 square feet.
General consensus of the City Council was to not accept ownership of the gaga pit at this time. Administrator Skrbich will check on insurance, liability, ADA concerns, maintenance expectations, etc. and table further discussion to the August meeting.
Motion – Meyer; Second – Messer; Carried – To pay the claims as submitted.
Mayor Angvall adjourned the meeting at 7:51 p.m.
