Special Meeting of the School Board of Education

Gymnasium, Lester Prairie Public Schools
A special meeting of the Board of Education of District 424, Lester Prairie, McLeod County, Minnesota was held on Monday, March 2, 2009, in the school Gymnasium.
The meeting was called to order by Fred Blaser at 7:00 p.m. Roll call was taken and the following Board Members were present: Fred Blaser, Chester Hoernemann, Joe Miller, Rawelin Radtke, Jim Jorgenson and Karla Heigl. The Administration present included: Pam Lukens and Scott Fitzsimonds. Greg East was absent due to his involvement in an auto accident.
The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Chester Hoernemann.
Joe Miller made a motion to approve the consent agenda for this meeting. Jim Jorgenson seconded the motion. The motion passed with a 6-0 vote.
Scott Fitzsimonds gave a brief overview of the lost revenue calculations and a summary of the current status of the Federal Stimulus Bills relating to the State Stabilization Fund and Special Education Enhancements.
During the Public Input portion of the meeting approximately 35 individuals addressed the School Board of Education by giving recommendations and opinions on the proposed reductions for the 2009-2010 school year.
The next regular Board meeting will be held Monday, March 16, 2009 at 6:30 p.m. in the Media Center. Action on possible reductions will be made at that time.
The meeting was adjourned at 8:45 p.m.
