SPECIAL MEETING of the SCHOOL BOARD of EDUCATION

Roll call was taken and the following board members were present: Steve Ziermann, Meganne Stifter-Knoll, Mary Otto, Rebecca Heimerl, Marc Sebora and Corbey Hentges. Administration present: Jeremy Schmidt, Mike Lee. Guests: Steve Niklaus with MSBA.
• Motion by Stifter-Knoll, 2nd by Otto to approve the Consent Agenda as presented.
Vote: 6 for, 0 against.
Notice/Posting for School Superintendent Screening Meeting
A. MSBA Steve Nicolas Review Hiring process
a. Review Applicants individually April 29th and May 5th
b. 18 Total Applicants so far
c. 13 of the 15 applicants prior were transferred
d. Reviewed Brochure and language corrected
e. Final Brochure will be sent Hentges and Schmidt for approval
f. Board to submit community members for interview by MSBA
g. Reviewed Timeline
Update on Facility Project
A. 32 Attended 1st Community meeting
B. Hentges expressed her concern of reaching the Elderly
a. Lee suggested to have an informational meeting with coffee and donuts at school
C. Sebora requested information about the absentee ballots

NOTICE OF SPECIAL ELECTION
INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT NO.424
(LESTER PRAIRIE), MINNESOTA
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that a special election has been called and will be held in and for Independent School District No. 424 (Lester Prairie), Minnesota, on Tuesday, May 14, 2019 between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m. to vote on the following question:
School District Question
Approval of School Building Bonds
Shall the School Board of Independent School District No. 424 (Lester Prairie), Minnesota, be authorized to issue general obligation school building bonds in an amount not exceed $13,000,000 for acquisition and betterment of school sites and facilities?
BY VOTING “YES” ON THIS BALLOT QUESTION, YOU ARE VOTING FOR A PROPERTY TAX INCREASE
The combined polling place and precincts served by such combined polling place for the special election will be as follows:
Combined Polling Place: All precincts located in Independent School district No. 424 (Lester Prairie), Minnesota
Lester Prairie City Hall
37 Juniper Street North
Lester Prairie, MN 55354
All qualified electors residing in the School District may cast their ballots at the polling place designated above during the polling hours specified above.
A voter must be registered to vote to be eligible to vote in the special election. Unregistered individuals may register to vote at the polling place on election day.

• Motion by Heimerl, 2nd by Otto to approve Andrew Weber as Assistant Track Coach for the 2019 Track Season
Discussion: Currently 51 students participating in track

FPS Fundraiser
A. Students to attend the University of Massachusetts
a. $690 per student – Housing and meals
b. 2 Adult Chaperones
c. June 5-9th
B. Belgian Waffles fund raiser
C. Pizza Sales – fund raiser
D. Otto suggested to have a table set up at the Bulldog Bash
• Motion by Heimerl, 2nd by Otto to approve the 2 Fund Raisers as presented.
Vote: 6 for, 0 against.
Hentges read Minnesota Statutes section 13D.05, subdivision 3 (b) (3), the meeting will close to develop or consider offers and counter offers for the purchase of said property.
• Motion by Ziermann, 2nd Sebora to approve the closure of the meeting
Vote: 6 for, 0 against.
Discussion took place.
• Motion by Otto, 2nd Stifter-Knoll to approve the opening of the meeting
Vote: 6 for, 0 against.
Meeting was adjourned at 8:19 A.M.
