REGULAR MEETING of the SCHOOL BOARD of EDUCATION

Roll call was taken and the following board members were present: Corbey Hentges, Steve Ziermann, Megan Stifter Knoll, Mary Otto and Brian Heimerl. Rebecca Heimerl was absent. Administration present: Melissa Radeke and Jeremiah Kraemer. Staff: Kim Debruyckere. Guests: Sara Gonzalez with Dashir, and Ivan Raconteur for the Herald Journal.
Pledge of Allegiance was led by Steve Ziermann.

• Motion by Otto and second by Stifter-Knoll to approve the meeting minutes of the Regular Board meeting on 7/17/19, and pay the bills in the amount of $215,632.85 and student activity fees of $668.50 Vote: 5 for, 0 against

Mr. Lee K-12 Principal Report: - highlights
• Finishing up the K-12 Schedule
• Preparing for Workshop week
• Letters sent out to elementary students of Classroom placement
• Working on hiring 2 Para’s
• School is beginning to buzz - only a few weeks away for the start of school
Activities Director Report:
• Why We Play Video – shown to the Board from MSHL
o LP created their own video with students interviewed
• Official Colors and branding of Bulldog logo presented
o Hentges asked if coaches are aware
o Otto asked about school painting
o Kraemer – Going forward they will phase out
• 34 more students are participating in Fall Sports

• Attended MSBA Summer Seminar – Phase I and II
• MSBA – Great Start Cohort – Comprised of New Superintendents to Districts

• Motion by Otto and second by Stifter-Knoll to approve the resignation of Tabitha Kubista as paraprofessional Effective Sep. 3rd 2019

School Finance
• Auditor update – auditor here on August 7th and 8th – results are good. Full update coming.
New Business
• Motion by R. Heimerl and 2nd by Otto to approve the Canvassing Returns of Special Bond Referendum Election

• Motion by Otto and 2nd by Stifter-Knoll to approve the cancelling of the September Regular School Board meeting on September 16 and scheduling a Special Board Meeting on September 18th at 5:45 pm in the School Media Center. Motion by Ziermann and 2nd by Stifter-Knoll to approve the 2019-2021 Master Agreement for Lester Prairie Education Association.

• Motion by Ziermann and 2nd by Stifter-Knoll to approve the Maintenance Service Agreement with Andy’s Lawn Snow, LLC for mowing and striping the football field from August 2019 to November 2019.
