NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that on Wednesday March 17, 2010 at the MONTROSE Planning and Zoning Commission meeting which begins at 7:00 p.m., a public hearing will be held at the MONTROSE Community Center to consider the Montrose Zoning Ordinance amendment for Farm Animals (the keeping of small poultry and fowl in residential zoning districts.
Copies are available at City Hall for review.
All persons interested are invited to attend said hearing and be heard on this matter.

MINUTES Regular Meeting of the Board of EducationIndependent School District 879, Delano Public Schools
The regular meeting of the Board of Education of Independent School District 879, Delano, Minnesota, was held on Monday, January 25, 2010, at the Delano City Hall. The meeting was called to order by the chair at 7:00 PM with the following members in attendance: Douglas, Johnson, Milano, Bodin, Schaust Seguin and Brasket. Absent: None
Energy Project Report
CONSENT AGENDA (approved unanimously)
Board approved the regular meeting minutes of 12-21-09, organizational meeting minutes of 01-04-10, special meetings on 1-13-10 and 1-21-10; the current budget status with year to date adjustments, wire transfers, Minnesota Liquid Assets fund, cash report, revenue and expense fund totals, expense reports and disbursements; and donations.
Board approved retirement of MS Sped LD teacher and resignation of DHS Asst Track coach. employment of homebound teacher for 8th grade, 2 DMS and 1 DES long-term substitutes, DES short-term substitute, and DHS Asst Track Coach. Contract Changes for 3 DES, 1 DMS and 1DHS Sped Paras.
Board heard the following administrative reports: Supt. Sweet reported on enrollment projections and state aid payment delays, ES Prin Darren Schuler’s report is on In-Service and I Love to Read Month; MS Prin Renee Klinkner reported on workshop and Targeted Services; HS Prin Matt Schoen reported on workshop, Project Lead the Way, and conf. reg. and CE Director Diane Johnson reviewed program updates.
Board heard reports from board members regarding MAWSECO, Wright Technical Center, Community Educ Advisory Council, Curriculum Advisory Council, Schools for Equity in Education, Delano Area Sports Arena, Safe Schools Staff Dev. and City/School Task Group and Arts Council.

SPECIAL SCHOOL BOARD MINUTES February 16, 2010Delano Public SchoolsIndependent School District #879,Delano Minnesota
1. The meeting was called to order at 5:00 p.m.
Members present: Patricia Osmon, Carolyn Milano, Tim Douglas, Amy Johnson, Lisa Seguin, Joy Bodin. and Peter Brasket.
2. Resignation Agreement: Motion by T Douglas, seconded by L Seguin to approve the resignation of Sarah Miller, Business Manager. Motion passed 7-0.
3. Approve employment contract: Motion by J Bodin, seconded by C Milano, to approve the recommendation for employment of Mary Reeder as Business Manager effective March 15, 2010. Motion passed 7-0.
4. Budget Update: Dr. Sweet, Superintendent, gave an update of the FY10 budget.
5. Continue discussion on Buildings and Grounds Committee Report regarding facility needs and November election: The board continued discussion on the facility needs of the district and the advisability of putting the high priority needs on the ballot in November.
6. Other: Reviewed the staffing needs for next school year.
7. Adjourn: Motion by C Milano, seconded by A Johnson to adjourn the meeting at 7:00 p.m.
