NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Loretto City Council will hold a Special Meeting on Thursday, January 5, 2012 at 6:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers (259 North Medina Street) related to the city hall lease and the appointment of the vacant Council seat.
Anyone interested in the Council position should contact Cindy Patnode at cpatnode@ci.loretto.mn.us or 763-479-4305 to find out the requirements and obtain a questionnaire that is to be submitted by 1/1/12.
This is an open meeting and anyone interested in attending is welcome.

MINUTESRegular Meeting of the Board of EducationIndependent School District 879, Delano Public Schools
The regular meeting of the Board of Education of Independent School District 879, Delano, Minnesota, was held on Monday, December 19, 2011, in the Delano High School Cafeteria. The meeting was called to order by the chair at 7:00 PM with the following members in attendance: Johnson, Milano, Baker, Frake, Seguin, Durick and Brasket. Absent: None
APPROVAL OF MEETING AGENDA (approved unanimously)
Dr Sweet and Mary Reeder presented levy certification recommendation, 11 Pay 12 levy analysis, FY11 and FY12 budget summaries and received questions from the public and Board
CONSENT AGENDA (approved unanimously)
Board approved the regular meeting minutes of 11-28-11, the current budget status with year to date adjustments, investment transactions, wire transfers, Minnesota Liquid Assets fund, cash report, revenue and expense fund totals, expense reports and disbursements; and donations.
PERSONNEL (6 voted aye, 1 voted nay)
Board approved retirement of the Superintendent; resignations of DHS Paraprofessional, Assistant Wrestling Coach; hiring a DES long-term substitute, DHS long-term substitute, Jr High Gymnastics Coach, DHS Assistant Wrestling Coach, Jr High Wrestling Coach; Contract/Assignment Changes/Approvals TAC Aquatics staff step increase; Leaves of Absence for TKC Paraprofessional FMLA extended.
Dale Vanderlinden thanked Dr. Sweet for the time he has spent as Superintendent of Delano Public Schools and his involvement with the veterans of the district.
Board heard the following administrative reports: Supt. Sweet reported on follow up meeting with legislators and status of capital transfer for CE boiler; MS Prin R Klinkner reported on “B’s or Better” program, MDE administrative performance review participation and site base meeting; HS Prin M Schoen reported on meeting with ACT consultant, preparing for FY13 registration and over 25 courses in the HS that are articulated for college credit; ES Prin D Schuler reported on FRED Night, TIES conference and district contributions to Delano-Loretto Area United Way; Bus Mgr had no additional report; and CE Dir reported on Old-Fashioned Christmas and Tiger Kids Club HoliDaze events.
Board heard reports from bd members regarding MAWSECO, Wright Technical Ctr, Community Educ Advisory Council, Curriculum Advisory Council, Schools for Equity in Educ., Delano Area Sports Arena, Safe Schools, Staff Dev., and City/School Task Group.
