Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a regular meeting of the Board of Education of Independent School District No. 466 (Dassel-Cokato, Minnesota) was duly held in the Dassel-Cokato Board Room, Cokato, Minnesota, on Thursday, January 27, 2011.
Board Chairman Kevin Bjork called the meeting to order at 7:00 PM.
The following members were present: Clemen, Tormanen, Bender, McConkey, Linder and Bjork. The following were absent: none. Members of the administration and public were also present.
The meeting began with the pledge of allegiance.
Motion by Linder, seconded by Bender, accepting the agenda as printed. Motion carried unanimously.
Annika Ring received the December Russell A. Johnson Courtesy and Respect Award, son of Mr. and Mrs. Jon Ring of Cokato.
Motion by Tormanen, seconded by McConkey, approving payment of bills as presented including payroll, hand payables and contingency totaling $1,774,717.79. Motion carried unanimously. (A complete list of bills is available from the District Office for review.)

Curriculum Advisory Committee (CAC) Report: None
Technology Report: None
MAWSECO Report: Vice Chair Tormanen reported on the MAWSECO reorganization meeting which included a review of: TREK, legislative meeting, staffing and budget.
Community Education Report: None
Business Manager’s Report: Business Manager Palmer reported expenditures are in line with budget through the end of the seventh month of the fiscal year. Business Manager Palmer updated the board on the state aid payment delay. The final data has come in from MDE based on the 6/30/2010 audit, resulting in an additional $446,429 being withheld from the January 30 aid payment. Business Manager Palmer informed the board the district will begin reimbursing employees for business expenses through their payroll check instead of through a finance check.
Superintendent’s Report: Superintendent Powers briefly addressed upcoming events and the proposed legislative pay freeze.
Student Representative Benda reported on: variety show, speech, one act, NHS trip, winter sports, snow week, and support staff appreciation week.
DCRISC – Board Chair Bjork reported that the DCRISC is completing plans for their fire suppression system and getting HVAC permits.

Motion by McConkey, seconded by Clemen approving all consent items, which included approval of the minutes from the December 23, 2010 Regular Board Meeting and January 3, 2011 Special Board Reorganizational Meeting. Approval of Wire transfers made on December 22nd for $100,000, December 24th for $110,000, December 30th for $590,000, January 10th for $50,000 and January 14th for $700,000. Personnel Items Approved: Resignation of Seena Glessing as HS Agriculture Instructor and FFA Advisor effective 1/21/2011, Retirement/Resignation of Gary Johnson as the Middle School Principal effective July 1, 2011, Approval of Proposed Program from Brian Bessingpas to work toward the MA+45 Lane, Approval of lane change for Naomi Stelzer from BA+15 to BA+30 effective 1/1/2011. Acceptance of Donations: From Dassel-Cokato PTA $200 donated to the 6th grade for the Long Lake trip, From Target $700 donated to Cokato Elementary for a 3rd grade field trip to Target Field, From Minnesota History Center $310 to Cokato Elementary for a 4th grade field trip. Approve Transportation Contracts for Eklof and Luhman. Motion carried unanimously.
Motion by Bender, seconded by Tormanen approving a Joint Agreement with Litchfield and Hutchinson for employment of a food service supervisor. Motion carried unanimously.
The board assigned Board Chair Bjork as the board representative to the DCIRSC.
Being no further business, the meeting adjourned at 7:45 PM.

Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a special meeting of the Board of Education of Independent School District No. 466 (Dassel-Cokato, Minnesota) was duly held in the District Board Room, Cokato, Minnesota, on Monday, February 14, 2011.
Board Chairman Kevin Bjork called the meeting to order at 7:00 PM.
The following members were present: Clemen, McConkey, Tormanen, Bjork, Bender, and Linder. The following were absent: none. Members of the community and administration were also present.
The meeting began with the pledge of allegiance.
Activities Director Thinesen reviewed the possibility of joining a new athletic conference for the 2012-13 school year, which could involve Litchfield, Annandale, New-London Spicer, Albany, and Melrose. The board asked numerous questions.
Board Members presented information from the MSBA Winter Leadership Conference on the following topics: Farm to School, Hazing, College Readiness, and School of One.
Being no further business the meeting adjourned at 8:35PM

Notice is hereby given to the qualified voters of French Lake Township, State of MN, that the Annual Election of Town Officers and Annual Town Meeting will be held on Tues. March 8th, 2011. In case of inclement weather, the meeting and election may be postponed until the third Tues. in March.
The Election Poll hours will be open from 10 am to 8 pm at which time the voters will elect:
One Supervisor - three year term
One Treasurer - two year term
The Annual Meeting will commence at 8 pm to conduct all necessary business prescribed by law. The Annual Election and Meeting will be held at the French Lake Township Hall located at 3133 County Road 3 NW, Annandale.

ISD 466 Call for BidsOn Vocational House
VOCATIONAL HOUSE: Bids will be accepted until Wednesday, March 9, 2011 at 3:00 pm CDT for the purchase of a three bedroom, 30x50 or 1,500 sq. ft. home constructed by Dassel-Cokato vocational carpentry students. Minimum bid is $34,500.00 plus MN Sales Tax, which is currently 6.875% for a total of $36,871.88. Features include:
• Maintenance free metal sofit and facia
• Maintenance free certainteed vinyl siding
• Andersen High Performance windows
• Electrical wiring performed by Lite Electric LLC of Cokato
• Insulation is blown fiberglass with walls having R-23 and ceilings R-44, under the care of Ricky’s Insulation
• Plumbing roughed in by Opsahl Plumbing and Heating of Dassel
All necessary inspections have been completed by the MN Department of Labor and Industry. The home may be viewed by contacting Steve Ellis at D-C High School. All Bids must be submitted to Tina Palmer, Business Manager, ISD #466, 4852 Reardon Ave SW, Suite 1700, Cokato, MN 55321 and clearly marked “Vocational House Bid”.
All bids must state the bid price with an addition of the applicable state sales tax and the total of the bid plus tax. All bids must be accompanied by a cashier’s check payable to ISD #466 in the amount of 5% of the bid. This bid security will be kept by the district as liquidated damages in the event the high bidder does not purchase the house. The District reserves the right to waive irregularities and to reject any or all bids. The successful bidder must pay for the house by June 30, 2011 or forfeit bid security.
The house must be removed from school property by August 12, 2011, otherwise penalties will apply. Bids will be opened at 3:00 pm CDT, March 9, 2011 in the Dassel-Cokato Board Room and tabulated for the Board of Education consideration on Thursday, March 24, 2011, at 7:00 pm
