The regular meeting of the Board of Education of Independent School District 879, Delano, Minnesota, was held on Monday, August 25, 2014, at Delano City Hall. The meeting was called to order by the chair at 5:45 p.m. with the following members in attendance: Johnson, Milano, Durick, Baker, Larson, Black and Seguin.

Board approved the regular meeting minutes of 7-28-14 and special meeting minutes of 8-18-14, the current budget status with year-to-date adjustments, investment transactions, wire transfers, Minnesota Liquid Assets fund, cash report, revenue and expense fund totals, expense reports and disbursements.

Ms. Klinkner reported on Targeted Services Summer Program, DMS new staff, students and equipment, WEB Orientation, DMS Open House, MAP and iReady Testing, and Cookie Dough Fundraiser Kick-Off. Dr. Heil reported on Teacher Workshops, Q-Comp Training, DHS 3D Printer, DHS Open House, Fall Athletics, Google Education, DHS ACT Testing and Scores. Mr. Schuler reported on Teacher Workshops at DES, new staff and students, Kindergarten Orientation, DES Open House, Outside Family Movie Night, New Family Night, New DES Parent Pick-Up Procedures, Tiger Trail. M. Reeder reported on Snow Plowing Specifications and Quote deadline. Ms. Johnson reported on CE Summer Programs, CLIMB Theatre participation at upcoming Fall Harvest Festival, Football Boosters Helmut Donation to Youth Football Program, Fall CE Brochure and DMS Play Peter Pan. Board heard reports from Wright Technical Center.

Second read of policies due to substantive and/or legal reference changes: Policy 406-Public and Private Personnel Data, Policy 414-Mandated Reporting of Child Neglect or Physical or Sexual Abuse, Policy 514- Bullying Prohibition Policy, Policy 515-Protection and Privacy of Pupil Records, Policy 521-Student Disability Nondiscrimination; Second read of new policy 426-Affordable Care Act (ACA) Compliance Policy.
NEW BUSINESS (approved unanimously)
Approved 2014-15 TAC Membership Rates, Changed date and place of September School Board Meeting.
