Regular Meeting of the Board of Education
Independent School District 879, Delano Public Schools
The regular meeting of the Board of Education of Independent School District 879, Delano, Minnesota, was held on Monday, December 15, 2014, at Delano City Hall. The meeting was called to order by the chair at 5:45 p.m. with the following members in attendance: Johnson, Milano, Baker, Larson, Black, Durick and Seguin.

Board reviewed discussion items: Facilities Committee meetings, Substitute Teacher Pay, DMS Principal resignation, MAWSECO Facility Plans, Board Committee Assignments.
PROGRAM REVIEW
Truth & Taxation Hearing – Mary Reeder, Business Manager
CONSENT AGENDA (approved unanimously)
Board approved the regular meeting minutes of 11-24-14, the current budget status with year-to-date adjustments, investment transactions, wire transfers, Minnesota Liquid Assets fund, cash report, revenue and expense fund totals, expense reports and disbursements.
RESOLUTION OF ACCEPTANCE OF GIFTS (approved unanimously)
Board approved retirements/resignations/terminations, recommendations of employment and contract changes which include: Retirements/resignations/terminations include: DHS Assistant Lacrosse Coach, (2) CE Gymnastics Coach, CE Tiger Activity Center Student Aide, CE Tiger Kids Club Student Aide. Recommendations of Employment include; DHS 9th Grade Baseball Coach, DMS Special Education Paraprofessional, DMS Long-term Substitute Paraprofessional, (2) CE Assistant Gymnastics Coach. Leave of absence: DES Grade 4 Teacher, DES Music Teacher.

Board heard the following administrative reports: Superintendent Schoen reported on Facilities Committee, Strategic Plan, Network and Wireless Infrastructure and Google Education. R. Klinkner reported on DMS Global Service Project Day, Winter Activity Day, Exploratory Day, Pennies for Patients, Student Survey, Technology Needs and Staff Training, HS Registration for 8th graders. S. Heil reported on Auditorium seating, Winter Activities, 2015-16 Registration Handbook. D. Schuler reported on 2nd Grade Food Drive, 1st Grade Toy Drive, Kindergarten Diaper Drive, United Way Fund Drive, Adopt-a-Family Donations, K-4 Bullying Initiatives, Positive Motion, Influenza at DES. M. Reeder reported on the Food Service Administrator Review. D. Johnson reported on Old Fashioned Christmas, CE Winter/Spring Catalog, GFCW Concerts in the Park, ECFE, Parent Aware, TKC Holidaze, Destination ImagiNation, YAR, Gymnastics Program. Abbey Hutchins and Thomas Grover reported on DES, DMS and DHS activities and responses to students’ questions. Board heard reports from: Wright Technical Center, Safe Schools.

Board approved Certify 2014 Pay 2015 Final Property Tax Levy and first and only read of Policy 522-Student Sex Nondiscrimination due to non-substantive and/or legal reference changes.
