The City of Independence is conducting a public meeting at the Independence City Hall (1920 Cty. Rd. 90) on Tuesday, June 23, 2015 at 7:15 P.M. to allow interested citizens an opportunity to comment on the Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP) to be submitted to the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency (MPCA), on June 30, 2015 as required by the City’s National Pollution Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) Phase II Storm Water Permit. At the Public Hearing, a brief presentation will provide background on the Permit requirements and annual report material. Time will be available during the meeting for oral statements from the public. Copies of the SWPPP are available for viewing at the Independence City Hall. The annual report along with any public comments will be submitted to MPCA prior to June 30, 2015. Written comments may be submitted prior to June 26, 2015 at the following address:
