NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the City of Dassel is accepting applications from Dassel residents interested in an appointment to fill a vacant Council seat. The term for this seat would expire on December 31, 2016.
The Council may appoint any individual who is eligible for election to the office of City Council. To be eligible, a person must be a U.S. citizen, a resident of the City and at least 21 years old. The Council is not obligated to appoint any candidate previously defeated in an election for the office. (MN Const. Article VII subd 6.)
Application forms are available at City Hall, 460 Third St, Dassel, MN 55325, or by contacting the City Clerk/Treasurer at 320-275-2454 or via e-mail at dassel@dassel.com. Applications are due by 1:00 p.m. on Friday, January 23, 2015. Applications will be reviewed and interviews conducted with the City Council prior to the Council making an appointment to fill the position.

Public Notice
City of Dassel
(Note correction to date of hearing)
The Dassel City Council will hold a public hearing on Tuesday, January 20, 2015 at 6:30 p.m. at Dassel City Hall to consider a variance request by Don MacKay, owner of Westview Terrace Mobile Home Park located in the City of Dassel, Minnesota.
MacKay has requested variances from the following requirements of the Dassel City Code Sections:
§151.03 requires-a green belt of 25’ in width of plantings around the periphery of the manufactured home park that adjoins any residential zones to effectively screen the interior of the manufactured home park.
Variance request-10’ rear yard and 10’ front yard setbacks which would extend into the required green belt.
§151.05a requires-a minimum lot area of 5,000 square feet.
Variance request-minimum of 3,150 square feet per lot.
§151.05c requires-no off-street parking shall be closer than 15’ to the nearest adjacent home.
Variance request-parking variance 5’ on Mobile Home Park Lots 1-4 which have a lot width per home of 35’, and 8’ on Mobile Home Park Lots 5-12 & 14 which have a lot width per home of 40’.

Dassel Area Historical Society
Annual Meeting Jan.27
The Annual Meeting of the Dassel Area Historical Society will be Tuesday, Jan. 27, 9 a.m. at the Dassel History Center. Trustees and officers will be elected; a review of 2014 will be presented, and other business will be conducted. Refreshments will be served.
