Important Information Regarding Assessment and Classification of Property In Kingston Township
(This may affect your 2016 property taxes)
Notice is hereby given that the Board of Appeal and Equalization for Kingston Township shall meet on April 6, 2015, from 1:00 – 1:30 PM at the Kingston Community Center, Kingston. The purpose of this meeting is to determine whether taxable property in the jurisdiction has been properly valued and classified by the assessor, and to determine whether corrections need to be made.
If you believe the value or classification of your property is incorrect, please contact your assessor’s office to discuss your concerns. If you are still not satisfied with the valuation of classification after discussing it with your assessor, you may appear before the local board of appeal and equalization. The board shall review the valuation, classification, or both if necessary, and shall correct it as needed. Generally, an appearance before your local board of appeal and equalization is required by law before an appeal can be taken to the county board of appeal and equalization.

Notice is hereby given that the POLICYHOLDERS ANNUAL MEETING of CROW RIVER MUTUAL INSURANCE COMPANY will be held on TUESDAY, April 7, 2015 – 7:00 p.m. at the Peace Lutheran Church–Peace Center; 400 Franklin Street SW, Hutchinson, MN for the purpose of transacting any business proper to come before said meeting. NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
BUSINESS SUBSIDY
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the city council of the city of Cokato, Minnesota (the “City”) will meet on Monday, March 30, 2015, at 7:00 p.m. or as soon thereafter as possible in the council chambers at Cokato city hall, 255 Broadway Avenue, Cokato, Minnesota 55321, to conduct a public hearing regarding a proposed business subsidy to Oppidan/Shopko (the “Recipient”) under Minnesota Statutes, sections 116J.993 through 116J.995 (the “Business Subsidy Act”) for a new retail facility. The facility will be located generally in the northeast quadrant of T.H. 12 and Co. Rd. 3 but will not include what is commonly known as the Creamery building.
The proposed business subsidy will be in the form of a pay-as-you-go Note. The property is located within a tax increment financing district. Tax increment generated by the increased value of the property after construction of the retail facility will be used to reimburse the Recipient for some of the costs of developing the project. The City and the Recipient will enter into an agreement setting forth the conditions under which the City will extend the business subsidy and providing for remedies in the event of default by the Recipient.
Information about the business subsidy, including a summary of the terms of the subsidy, is available at Cokato city hall during regular business hours and on the city’s website. Any person wishing to express an opinion regarding the proposed business subsidy may submit comments in writing or appear at the public hearing. Any person with a residence or who owns taxable property in the City may file a written complaint with the City if the City fails to comply with the Business Subsidy Act. No action may be filed against the City for failure to comply unless a written complaint is filed.
