Interim Use Permit Application
Please take notice that the Waverly Planning and Zoning Commission will conduct a public hearing at 7:30 P.M. in the council chambers of Waverly City Hall on Thursday April 16, 2015 to consider an application for an Interim Use Permit submitted by SunShare to construct a community solar garden on 41.32 acres of unplatted land located on Emerson Avenue SW, Waverly, Minnesota and identified as parcel 116-500-051200.
The interim use, if approved, would allow the construction of a community solar garden with a nameplate capacity of up to seven megawatts. Community solar gardens are large field installations of solar panels connected directly to Xcel Energy’s grid. Residents, businesses, and governmental customers can opt to use the solar energy from those panels to offset their electricity bill instead of installing panels on their property. Customer enrollment and ongoing maintenance of the solar panel system is handled by SunShare.
Interested parties are invited to attend the public hearing either in person or by agent or attorney in opposition or in favor of the proposed application.
