NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the period for filing affidavits of candidacy for the office of school board member of Independent School District No. 879 shall begin on August 2, 2016, and shall close at 5:00 o’clock p.m. on August 16, 2016.
The general election shall be held on Tuesday, November 8, 2016. At that election, three (3) members will be elected to the School Board for terms of four (4) years.
Affidavits of Candidacy are available from the school district clerk, 700 Elm Avenue East, Delano, MN 55328. The filing fee for this office is $2. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the City Primary Election will be held in the City of Independence, Minnesota on Tuesday, August 9, 2016. The hours of voting will be from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. The following office will be on the ballot:

The Polling Place for Independence residents is Independence City Hall, 1920 County Road 90, Independence, MN 55359.
A public test of the voting systems used to tabulate ballots in the municipal Primary will be held on Friday, July 29 at 9:30 a.m. at Independence City Hall, 1920 County Road 90, Independence, MN 55359.
Voters who will be absent from the precinct on Election Day or unable to vote in person may vote by absentee ballot. Ballots may be obtained by mail or in person at Independence City Hall during regular business hours. City Hall will also be open Saturday, August 6 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. for absentee voting. In-person absentee voting will end at 5 p.m. on Monday, August 8.
