DASSEL TOWNSHIP FILING NOTICE
Filing for Dassel Township offices will open on Tuesday, January 3, 2017 and will close on Tuesday, January 17, 2017. The Township Clerk’s office will be open for filing from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. on the last day of the filing period. Filings are open for one supervisor for a 3-year term and one Treasurer for a 2-year term. File at the Township Clerk’s office at 650 Parker Avenue West -Dassel, MN. DASSEL TOWNSHIPNOTICE OF MEETING DATE CHANGE
Notice is hereby given that the regular monthly Dassel Township meeting has been changed for the month of January 2017 to the second Tuesday of the month (January 10, 2017) at 10:00 a.m. instead of the first Tuesday of the month. This will only be a change for the month of January 2017.

In partnership with our communities, Dassel-Cokato Public Schools will provide all learners opportunities designed to maximize their potential and promote lifelong learning.
Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a special meeting of the Board of Education of Independent School District No. 466 (Dassel-Cokato, Minnesota) was duly held in the Dassel-Cokato Board Room, Cokato, Minnesota, on Thursday, October 13, 2016.
McConkey called the meeting to order at 7:00 PM.
The following members were present: Aho, Clemen, McConkey, Linder, Nelson and Bender. The following were absent: none.
The meeting began with the pledge of allegiance.
Motion by Linder, seconded by Nelson, accepting the agenda as written. Motion carried unanimously.
Motion by Nelson, seconded by Linder, to pursue the CTE project not exceeding the scope of plan C with the addition of fire suppression in the middle school, focusing on an April 18, 2017 vote. The project was discussed with Paul Youngquist’s input from ARY. Roll call vote with all members voting in the affirmative.
McConkey moved the November Special Meeting to November 14, 2016 at 7:00 PM.
Being no further business, the meeting adjourned at 7:57 PM.

Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a regular meeting of the Board of Education of Independent School District No. 466 (Dassel-Cokato, Minnesota) was duly held in the Dassel-Cokato Board Room, Cokato, Minnesota, on Monday, October 24, 2016.
McConkey called the meeting to order at 7:00 PM.
The following members were present: Clemen, Nelson, McConkey, Linder, and Bender. The following were absent: Aho.
The meeting began with the pledge of allegiance.
Motion by Clemen, seconded by Bender, accepting the agenda as presented. Motion carried unanimously.
The Russell A. Johnson Courtesy and Respect Award was awarded to Cassadi Kirchoff.
Motion by Nelson, seconded by Linder, approving payment of bills as presented including payroll, hand payables and contingency totaling $2,148,924.32. Motion carried unanimously. (A complete list of bills is available from the District Office for review.)

Business Manager’s Report: Business Manager Palmer reported expenditures are in line with budget through the end of the fourth month of the fiscal year, reviewed the investment report with the board, and reported on the first MARSS submission for 2016-17 school year.

Motion by Linder, seconded by Bender, approving all consent items, which included approval of the minutes from September 26, 2016 Regular Board Meeting and the October 13, 2016 Special Board Meeting. Approval of the wire transfers made on September 27th for $250,000, September 30th for $765,000, and October 14th for $800,000. Personnel items: Approval of Resignation of Gwen Rien as a District Type III Van driver effective 10/18/2016, Employment of Jackie Kautz as a Dassel Elementary special needs paraeducator effective 10/10/2016, Employment of Heather Turja as a Dassel Elementary special needs paraeducator effective 10/24/2016, Employment of Victoria Tormanen as a Cokato Elementary special needs paraeducator effective 10/4/2016, Approve employment of Kalena Sendra as a Charger Kids Club staff member, Approve Winter Coaching Assignments as presented by Activities Director Thinesen. Acceptance of Donations from American Legion Post No. 364 – $250 to the scholarship fund, Y-Not Plumbing & Heating - $100 to Cokato Elementary 3rd grade, Girl Scout Troop #3067 - $100 to Cokato Elementary media center, Girl Scout Troop #3067 - $100 to Dassel Elementary media center, Broiler & Egg Association of MN - $624 for the South Africa trip, DC Volleyball Boosters - $2,680 for additional coaches, DC Swim Team Boosters - $979.50 for an additional coach From Kingston Auto - $500 for the South Africa Trip, MN Turkey Research & Promotion Council - $456 for the South Africa Trip, Dairy Queen - $434 to Dassel Elementary, Dairy Queen - $434 to Cokato Elementary. Motion carried unanimously.
Motion by Clemen, seconded by Nelson, approving the addition of policy # 721 Uniform Grant Guidance Policy Regarding Federal Revenue Sources. Motion carried unanimously.
Motion by Bender, seconded by Clemen, approving a NHS trip to Washington D.C. Motion carried unanimously.
Motion by Nelson, seconded by Bender, approving a trip to the Dorian Music Festival. Motion carried unanimously.
Changes to the Facilities Brochure were presented for a first reading.
Chairman McConkey set a meeting on November 10, 2016 at 7:00 pm to conduct the superintendent evaluation.

Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a special meeting of the Board of Education of Independent School District No. 466 (Dassel-Cokato, Minnesota) was duly held in the Dassel-Cokato Board Room, Cokato, Minnesota, on Monday, November 14, 2016.
McConkey called the meeting to order at 7:00 PM.
The following members were present: Aho, Clemen, McConkey, Linder, Nelson and Bender. The following were absent: none.
The meeting began with the pledge of allegiance.
Motion by Bender, seconded by Aho, accepting the agenda as written. Motion carried unanimously.
Linder moved the adoption of the following resolution:
RESOLUTION CANVASSING RETURNS
OF VOTES OF SCHOOL DISTRICT GENERAL ELECTION
BE IT RESOLVED by the School Board of Independent School District No. 466, State of Minnesota, as follows:
1. It is hereby found, determined and declared that the general election of the voters of this school district held on November 8, 2016, in conjunction with the state general election, was in all respects duly and legally called and held.
2. As specified in the attached Abstract and Return of Votes Cast, a total of 4250 voters of the district voted at said general election on the election of three (3) school board members for four (4) year term vacancies on the board caused by expiration of term on the first Monday in January next following the general election as follows:

Shane M Colberg 2417
Corynn Flood 1267
Irene Bender 2324
Mindy Stoll 1125
3. Dave Sangren, Shane M Colberg, and Irene Bender having received the highest number of votes, are elected to four (4) year terms beginning on the first Monday in January, 2017.
4. The clerk is hereby directed to certify the results of the election to the county auditor of each county in which the school district is located in whole or in part.
The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Member Clemen and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: Aho, Clemen, McConkey, Linder, Nelson and Bender and the following voted against the same: none, whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted.
Linder introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption:
RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING ISSUANCE OF CERTIFICATES OF ELECTION AND DIRECTING THE SCHOOL DISTRICT CLERK TO PERFORM OTHER ELECTION RELATED DUTIES
WHEREAS, the board has canvassed the general election for school board members held in conjunction with the state general election on November 8, 2016.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the School Board of Independent School District No. 466 (Dassel-Cokato), State of Minnesota, as follows:
1. The chair and clerk are hereby authorized to execute certificates of election on behalf of the school board of Independent School District No. 466 to the following candidates:
a. Dave Sangren
b. Shane M Colberg
c. Irene Bender
who have received a sufficiently large number of votes to be elected to fill vacancies on the board caused by expiration of term on the first Monday in January next following the election, based on the results of the canvass.
2. The certificate of election shall be in substantially the form attached hereto.
3. After the time for contesting the election has passed and the candidate has filed all campaign financial reports required by Minnesota Statutes, Chapter 211A, the clerk of the school board is hereby directed to deliver a certificate to each person entitled thereto personally or by certified mail.
4. The clerk is hereby directed to enclose with the certificate a form of acceptance of office and oath of office in substantially the form attached hereto.
The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Aho and upon vote being taken thereon the following voted in favor thereof: Aho, Clemen, McConkey, Linder, Nelson and Bender and the following voted against the same: none, whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted.
