Regular Meeting of the Board of Education
Independent School District 879, Delano Public Schools
The regular meeting of the Board of Education of Independent School District 879, Delano, Minnesota, was held on Monday, February 27, 2017, at Delano City Hall. The meeting was called to order by the chair at 5:45 p.m. with the following members in attendance: Johnson, Seguin, Larson, Black, Milano, Depa and Briesemeister.

Board reviewed discussion items: Project Oversight Committee update, Open Enrollment Resolution, 2017-2018 School Calendar and Administrative Committee Meeting.
PROGRAM REVIEW
I Love to Read Month – John McDonald
CONSENT AGENDA (approved unanimously)
Board approved the regular meeting minutes of 1-23-17 and the current budget status with year-to-date adjustments, investment transactions, construction bond investment transactions, wire transfers, Minnesota Liquid Assets fund, cash report, revenue and expense fund totals, expense reports and disbursements.
RESOLUTION OF ACCEPTANCE OF GIFTS (approved unanimously)
PERSONNEL (approved unanimously)
Board approved retirements/resignations/terminations, recommendations of employment and contract changes which include: Retirements/Resignations/Terminations include: 2nd Grade Teacher, DES Recess Paraprofessional (2), TKC Aide (2), DMS Summer School Reading Teacher, TAC Supervisor (2), JV Girls Lacrosse Coach, 7th Grade Boys Baseball Coach, 3rd Grade Teacher, DHS Science Teacher. Recommendations of Employment include: Tiger Gymnastics Coach (2), DMS Counselor Long-Term Substitute, DES Music Teacher Long-Term Substitute, TAC Morning Supervisor, DMS 8th Grade Long-Term Substitute. Contract Changes/Approvals/Position Changes: EL Teacher, DES Paraprofessional, Retiree Health Agreement. Leaves of Absence: CE Teacher, DHS/DMS Cook.
ADMINISTRATIVE AND BOARD REPORTS
Board heard the following administrative reports: Superintendent Schoen reported on School Board Appreciation Week, building projects, strategic plan. B. Voight reported on Pennies for Patients, Butterbraid fundraiser, Intermediate School Informational Meeting. J. McDonald reported on I Love to Read Month, Reading Carnival, APEX Fun Run, Tiger Fun Fair, Tiger Way Celebration. S. Heil reported on activities, ACT testing, registration conferences, HS Blood Drive, traffic/parking adjustments during construction. M. Reeder reported on lawn mowing bids, health insurance bids. D. Johnson reported on T. Friedman book discussion group, building projects, Pathway II funding, MN Reading Corps, Early Childhood Screening, Robotics program, TKC registration, Gerten’s fundraiser, activities update. Student Representative A. Moe reported on DES, DMS and DHS activities. Board heard reports from: MAWSECO, Wright Technical Center, District Advisory Committee, Schools for Equity in Education (SEE).
OLD BUSINESS (approved unanimously)
Approved second read of Policy 809-Health & Safety.
NEW BUSINESS (approved unanimously)
Approved Resolution Limiting Open Enrollment and Adopting Standards for Accepting and Rejecting Open Enrollment Applications, 2017-2018 School Calendar, and books as surplus property.
The meeting adjourned at 8:16 p.m. The preceding is a summary of the unofficial minutes. FRANKLIN TOWNSHIP
ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS
2017 GRANITE HAULING
Notice is hereby given that bids will be received by Franklin Township Clerk/ Treasurer and Deputy Clerk /Treasurer until 5:00 p.m., CST, Wednesday, April 26, 2017 for the loading and hauling of approximately 8000 tons of CL 2 granite from Martin Marietta Aggregates, located in St. Cloud, MN to predetermined Franklin Township roads. The granite is to be loaded and hauled in belly dumps and applied to the following roads in Franklin Township, Wright County, MN:
~ 110th Street, Eastwood to the bridge 6” lift – approximately 1 mile
~ Davidson Avenue, 3” lift -approximately 3⁄4 mile
~ 50th Street - West Farmington Avenue to Eckert 4”- approximately 1.5 miles
The remainder of the granite will be hauled to the Franklin Township Hall, 8735 County Road 16 SE, Delano, MN
Contract Documents may be seen at the office of the Township Clerk/8735 County Road 16 SE, Delano, Minnesota 55328. Appointments requested 763-639-4345.
Bids shall be directed to the Township Clerk/Treasurer, 8735 County Road 16 SE, Delano, MN 55328 endorsed upon the outside wrapper “BID FOR 2017 Granite Hauling.” Clerk must be in receipt of bid on or before the due date & time set forth in this notice. All bids will be opened and read aloud on Monday, May 1, 2017 at 7:00 p.m. (CST) at the Township Hall, 8735 Wright County Road 16 SE, Delano, Minnesota 55328.
The Township reserves the right to reject any and all bids, to waive irregularities and informalities therein and to award the contract in the best interest of the Township.

FRANKLIN TOWNSHIP
ASSESSMENT NOTICE
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN, That the Local Board of Appeal and Equalization of the Township of Franklin of Wright County, Minnesota, will meet at the Franklin Township Hall, 8735 County Road 16 SE at 4:00 PM, on Wednesday, the 26th day of April, 2017 for the purpose of reviewing and determining whether property in the jurisdiction has been properly valued and classified by the assessor.
If you believe the value or classification of your property is incorrect, please contact your assessor’s office to discuss your concerns. If you disagree with the valuation or classification after discussing with it with your assessor, you may appear at said meeting, and show cause of having such assessment corrected.
No complaint that another person is assessed too low will be acted upon until the person so assessed, or his agent, shall have been notified of such complaint.

City of Delano
Notice of Public Hearing
Notice is hereby given that the Delano City Council will hold a public hearing at 7:00pm or as soon thereafter on Tuesday, April 18, 2017, at the Delano City Hall, located at 234 2nd Street North, for the purpose of considering an amendment to City Code Chapter 4, Section 422.01 related to expanding the allowable times for outdoor music events.
Notice is further given that any written or oral comments from citizens regarding the proposed amendment will be heard at the public hearing. All interested persons are invited to attend the meeting and will be afforded the opportunity to speak on the applications during the public hearing.
