SECTION 00020 - ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS
Well House Improvements
Waverly, MN
RECEIPT AND OPENING OF PROPOSALS: Sealed proposals for the work described below will be received by the City Clerk/Treasurer at the City of Waverly City Offices, 502 Atlantic Avenue, PO Box 189, Waverly, MN 55390 until 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 10, 2018, at which time the bids will be opened and publicly read.
DESCRIPTION OF WORK: The work includes the following:
A. Remove the 5,000 gallon steel tank inside the well house. Remove pedestals and disconnect piping prior to removing tank.
B. Replace 4” piping and valves with 6” piping and valves inside well house, and add a new flow meter.
C. Add a chlorine closet to the exterior of the structure. Contractor is responsible for coordinating the final size of the structure with the manufacturer.
D. Replace fluoride chemical feed system, including chemical storage tank, air break box, chemical feed pumps, scale, and injector. Salvage existing chemical feed pumps to Owner.
E. Remove existing air compressor and salvage to Owner.
F. Remove and replace unit heater in well house. Heater is fueled by natural gas.
G. Furnish and install new radio antenna for SCADA system along with various SCADA and programming improvements.
H. Paint floors, ceiling and wall inside well house. Stain cedar siding on well house exterior.
I. Add VFD for well and other various electrical improvements noted in the plans.
COMPLETION OF WORK: All work under the Contract must be complete within three hundred sixty five (365) calendar days after receipt of the Notice to Proceed.
PRE-BID MEETING: A Pre-Bid Meeting is scheduled for April 26, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at the Waverly Terrace Well House location. The well house is located on the Southeast corner of the intersections of Terrace Blvd. and Wilson St., Waverly, MN. All prospective bidders are highly encouraged to attend.
MINIMUM CONTRACTOR QUALIFICATIONS: The Bidder shall have experience as a General Contractor in the successful completion of at least three municipal well houses within the last five (5) years.

PERFORMANCE AND PAYMENT BONDS: The successful Bidder will be required to furnish a Performance Bond and Labor and Materials Payment Bond each in the amount of the Contract.

YOU ARE HEREBY NOTIFIED, in accordance with the Lester Prairie Municipal Code, Section 5.1 Zoning, 5.1.4 Residential Districts, Section 5.1.4.6 Lot Area, Frontage and Yard Regulations, and Section 5.1.11.2 Variances, that the Lester Prairie Planning & Zoning Commission will hold a public hearing on Tuesday, May 1, 2018, at 7:00 p.m., in City Hall.
The purpose of said public hearing is to receive public input, orally or in writing, in person, by agent or attorney, regarding a variance permit request submitted by Leonard Juncewski for the property located at 1103 and 1105 Prairie Ridge Lane.
The variance permit request is to have zero lot line setback between Lots 2 and 3 in Block 2 for the construction of one single family residence upon said Lots 2 and 3.
