ORDINANCE NO. 2018-01
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 420:35 OF THE LORETTO CODE OFORDINANCES (ZONING) REGULATION FOR “GC” GENERAL COMMERCIAL DISTRICT
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LORETTO ORDAINS:
SECTION 1. Section 420:35, Subd. 4, of the Loretto Code of Ordinances, Regulations for “GC” General Commercial District, Conditional Uses, is hereby amended by adding the underlined language and deleting the language in strikeout as follows:
Subd. 4. Conditional Uses: The following are conditional uses in the General Commercial district and require securing a conditional use permit. Each request for a conditional use permit shall be evaluated based upon the standards and criteria set forth in section 420:70 of this chapter in addition to any criteria cited below for certain conditional uses.
(g) Small recreational vehicle repair conducted inside a building, including snowmobiles, ATV’s and motorcycles, provided:
(i) The hours of operation are limited to Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. and Saturday 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
(ii) No merchandise, vehicles, parts, or equipment shall be kept, or parked outdoors, except during the hours of operation specified in this section.
SECTION 2. Section 420.35, Subd. 5 of the Loretto Code of Ordinances (GC, General Commercial District - Interim Uses) is hereby amended by adding the underlined language and deleting the language in strikeout as follows:
Subd. 5. Interim Uses. The following are interim uses in the General Commercial District and require securing an interim use permit. Each request for an interim use permit shall be evaluated based upon the standards and criteria set forth in section 420:71 of this Chapter.
(a) Reserved. Small recreational vehicle repair conducted inside a building, including snowmobiles, ATV’s, and motorcycles.
SECTION 3. This Ordinance shall become effective upon its passage and publication.

REQUEST FOR QUOTES FOR BREAD AND MILK
Notice is hereby given that quotes will be received by the Delano Public Schools, Independent School District #879, for bread and milk products for the 2018-2019 school year. Quotes will be received at the Delano Public Schools District Office, 700 Elm Ave E, Delano, MN 55328 until 1:30 p.m., on Friday, May 11, 2018. Quotes will be acted upon at the regular board meeting, Monday, May 21, 2018. Quotes are to be clearly marked on the outside of the envelope, “QUOTE – DO NOT OPEN”. The agent shall not withdraw quotes for a period of 30 calendar days after opening of quotes.
Quote requirements and specifications are available for interested vendors at the Delano Public Schools District Office, 700 Elm Ave E, Delano, MN 55328, by e-mail kris.larson@delanoschools.org or by calling Kris Larson at 763-972-3365 ext. 2085.
The Board reserves the right to reject any and all quotes or parts of such quotes, accept quotes it deems to be in its best interest, to waive any informalities or irregularities in quotes submitted and waive minor irregularities or discrepancies in quote procedure.

ORDINANCE NO. 0-18-02
An Ordinance repealing Delano Ordinance No. O-14-03, removing the Planned Unit Development overlay district of certain land in the City of Delano, Minnesota.
The City Council of the City of Delano, Minnesota hereby ordains:
Section 1. The City of Delano repeal in its entirety Ordinance No. 0-14-13.
Section 3. The following legally described property is hereby zoned from a PUD, Planned Unit Development Overlay District to I-1, Limited Industrial and I-2, General Industrial Districts.
Legal Description for I-1 district: DELANO NORTHWEST BUSINESS PARK OUTLOT B; DELANO WEST METRO BUSINESS PARK FIRST ADDITION OUTLOTS A, B, AND BLOCK 1 OF LOT 1.
Legal Description for I-2 district: DELANO WEST METRO BUSINESS PARK FIRST ADDITION OUTLOTS C, D, BLOCKS 2 AND 3 OF LOT 1, AND LOTS 2; 3; AND 4
Section 2. This ordinance shall be effective upon its passage and publication.

Organizational Meeting of the Board of Education
Independent School District 879, Delano Public Schools
The organizational meeting of the Board of Education of Independent School District 879, Delano, Minnesota, was held on Monday, Jan. 8, 2018, in the Delano High School Media Center. The meeting was called to order by the chair at 7 p.m. with the following members in attendance: Johnson, Seguin, Milano, Black, Larson, Depa and Briesemeister.
ELECTION OF OFFICERS (approved unanimously)
The board elected M. Larson as Chairperson, L. Seguin as Vice Chairperson, C. Milano as Clerk and C. Black as Treasurer.
APPROVAL OF MEETING AGENDA (approved unanimously)
The board approved the agenda after amending the committee representatives list to make R. Depa the lead on the Schools for Equity in Education committee and to make C. Milano the backup.
ANNUAL DESIGNATIONS (approved unanimously)

The regular meeting of the Board of Education of Independent School District 879, Delano, Minnesota, was held on Monday, Feb. 26, 2018, at Delano City Hall. The meeting was called to order by the chair at 5:46 p.m. with the following members in attendance: Larson, Johnson, Seguin, Milano, Black and Briesemeister. Depa arrived at 5:55 p.m. Absent: None.

Board heard the following administrative reports: Superintendent Schoen introduced Aaron Vande Linde for a report on a school trust lands resolution. B. Voight recognized staff members for retirement and achievement, and reported on the ADSIS program, compilation of the DIS student handbook and the DIS curriculum. S. Heil reported on Suicide Awareness and Prevention Day, the “Screenagers” documentary, organics recycling, ACT testing and information meetings for incoming seventh- and eighth-graders. D. Schuler reported on I Love to Read Month events and activities, the Reading Corps program, the theme of the month, FRED night and the Tiger Fun Fair. M. Reeder reported on the food service administrative review and lawn mowing specifications for bids. D. Johnson reported on a staff retirement, Reading Corps progress and various activities. Board heard reports from: MAWSECO, Wright Technical Center, the District Advisory Committee, Safe School and the Professional Development committee.
OLD BUSINESS (approved unanimously)
Board approved the school trust lands resolution.
NEW BUSINESS (approved unanimously)
Board approved the 2018-19 school calendar, the 2018-19 open enrollment resolution, the Q Comp MOA, a water use agreement with DAYHA and an MOA for an additional staff development day.

ADMINISTRATIVE AND BOARD REPORTS
Board heard the following administrative reports: Superintendent Schoen provided an update on the legislative session. B. Voight recognized the boys’ basketball program and Activities Administrator Mike Lindquist, and reported on MCA test preparations, the school climate survey, parent-teacher conferences and an intermediate school information meeting set for April 18. S. Heil recognized the boys’ basketball team for its state championship and reported on the “Screenagers” documentary, SciTech and the hiring process. He also recognized retiring play director Barb Roy and Activities Administrator Mike Lindquist. D. Schuler reported on festivities surrounding the state basketball tournament, the March Tiger Way celebration, a visit from scientists, Kindergarten Round-Up, MCA preparation and the theme of citizenship. M. Reeder reported on the school finance award received by the district and meal prices. D. Johnson reported on various activities, a community book read, and TAC memberships and usage. Board heard reports from: MAWSECO, Wright Technical Center and the Professional Development committee.
NEW BUSINESS (approved unanimously)
Board approved a lawn mowing contract for 2018 and 2019, the first and only read of Policy 701 – Establishment and Adoption of School District Budget, the first read of Policy 602 – Organization of School Calendar and School day, and the baseball park lease agreement with the city of Delano.
