INDEPENDENCE SEEKS PLANNING COMMISSION MEMBER
The City of Independence is seeking applications for the City’s Planning Commission.
The Planning Commission conducts public hearings and makes recommendations to the City Council concerning land use issues including rezoning, ordinance amendments, subdivisions and variances. The Commission meets the third Tuesday of every month at 7:30 p.m. This is a three-year term.
Those interested in serving on the Planning Commission should call the City Office at 763.479.0527 or stop in the office located at 1920 County Road 90 to obtain an application. You can also find the application on the City web-site at www.ci.independence.mn.us.
Applications must be submitted by noon on Friday, May 24, 2019 to be considered.

City Administrator, Phil Kern, reviewed data practices and policies and procedures as it relates to City Council and Commissions.

Phil Kern reviewed with the group the City of Delano’s mission, vision statement and values. Afterwards, Kern discussed the City’s short-term goals that were established at a recent goal setting session.
C. Update on current projects around the City
City Administrator Phil Kern discussed current city projects and developments around the city.
