Important Information Regarding Assessment and
Classification of Property
This may affect your 2020 Property Taxes
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN, that the Board of Appeal and Equalization for the Township of Bergen, McLeod County, Minnesota, will meet at the Lester Prairie City Hall, 37 Juniper Street, Lester Prairie MN at 7 o’clock P.M. on Wednesday, the 3rd day of April, 2019. The purpose of this meeting is to determine whether taxable property in the jurisdiction has been properly valued and classified by the assessor and to determine whether corrections need to be made.
If you believe the value of classification of your property is incorrect, please contact your assessor’s office to discuss your concerns. If you are still not satisfied with the valuation or classification after discussing it with your assessor, you may appear before the local board of appeal and equalization. The board shall review the valuation, classification or both if necessary and shall correct it as needed. Generally, an appearance before your local board of appeal and equalization is required by law before an appeal can be taken to the county board of appeal and equalization.

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
In the Matter of the Repair and Redetermination of Benefits of
Wright County Ditch No. 10
Whereas, the County Drainage Authority for Wright County Ditch No. 10, has determined that the existing benefits of said County Ditch do not reflect current land values and/or there are properties benefiting from said ditch that are not assessed, and; Whereas the viewers appointed to redetermine the benefits and damages for Wright County Ditch No. 10 have filed the Viewers Report for the Redetermination of Benefits with the County Auditors,
NOW, THEREFORE, Notice is hereby given that the Drainage Authority will hear public comment at a public hearing on the acceptance of the redetermination of benefits in the County Commissioner’s Board Room, 10 2nd Street NW in Buffalo, Minnesota on April 2, 2019 at 1:30 p.m. All persons interested in the redetermination of benefits wanting to be heard should appear at this time. If accepted again, the redetermined benefits will replace those now being used and all future maintenance expenses will be assessed based upon the redetermined benefits.
An informational meeting will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, March 27, 2019 in the Howard Lake-Waverly-Winsted High School, 8700 County Road 6 SW, Howard Lake, Minnesota. If you still have questions after the meeting, the viewers will be available to meet individually with landowners on Thursday and Friday, the 28th and 29th of March to review the determination of benefits to your property. It may not be possible to answer your individual questions at the public hearing, so meeting with the viewers prior to the hearing is strongly recommended.
