Mayor Graunke called the regular meeting of the Delano City Council/Economic Development Authority of Tuesday, January 7, 2020, to order at 7 p.m.
2. Roll Call and Approval of Agenda

City of Delano Special Workshop Summary MinutesCity Council/Economic Development AuthorityTuesday, January 7, 2020 at 6 p.m.
1. Call to Order
Mayor Graunke called the special workshop of Tuesday, January 7, 2020, to order at 6 p.m.
2. Roll Call
Members Present: Dale Graunke, Mayor; Councilmembers Betsy Moran, Holly Schrupp, Jason Franzen, and Jon Sutherland
Also Present: Phil Kern, City Administrator; Bob Van Lith, Fire Chief; Paula Bauman, Administrative Services Coordinator
3. Special Order of Business
A. Update on Fire Department Aerial Truck
Delano Fire Chief, Bob Van Lith, updated council on the purchase of the Fire Department’s previously approved aerial truck. The paperwork has been completed and it’s been paid in full which saved the city $28,000. The manufacturer is working with their engineering to design the truck with the specific equipment Delano will use. The truck should be completed by the early 2021.
Council discussed the current verbal agreement between the cities of Delano and Watertown. Staff has met to discuss mutual aid between the cities and how to work on an agreement. The process may take some time to finalize but both cities will benefit from a formal and stable agreement.
B. Discuss special meeting procedures
Phil Kern briefly discussed past meeting procedures related to city provided dinners during special meetings. This topic has been discussed periodically over the years; Kern stated Councilmember Franzen had requested this item to be added to the agenda for further discussion. After much discussion, Council agreed to allow city provided dinners during special meetings with a start time of 6 p.m.
C. City Administrator Performance Review (This item may be conducted in a closed session with a public summary presented at 7 p.m. City Council meeting.)
Motion by Betsy Moran, seconded by Jason Franzen to adjourn the special workshop to reconvene after the regular meeting; motion carried.
Motion by Holly Schrupp, seconded by Betsy Moran to reconvene the special workshop of Tuesday, January 7, 2020, at 7:10 p.m; motion carried.
Motion by Holly Schrupp, seconded by Betsy Moran to enter into closed session for the purpose of performing the city administrator performance review; motion carried.
Motion by Betsy Moran, seconded by Holly Schrupp to exit out of closed session.
4. Adjournment
There being no further business to discuss, the special workshop of Tuesday, January 7, 2020, was adjourned at 8:10 p.m.
