Franklin Township
Notice is hereby given that the Township Election in the Town of Franklin, County of Wright, State of Minnesota will be held on Tuesday, March 10, 2020.
Absentee voting for the above election will be available at the Wright County Auditor’s Office, 10 2nd Street NW, room 230, Buffalo, MN 763.682.7578 from February 9th through March 9th, 2020. Normal office hours are 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. On Saturday, March 7, the County Auditor will be open from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and will stay open on Monday, March 9th, until 5:00 p.m. The County offices are closed Monday, February 17th for President’s Day.

Notice of public accuracy testCit of Independence
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that a public test of the voting systems used to tabulate ballots in the Presidential Nomination Primary will be held on Tuesday, February 18 at 9:00 a.m. at Independence City Hall, 1920 County Road 90, Independence, MN 55359. The public is invited to attend.
The Presidential Nominating Primary will be held at City Hall on Tuesday, March 3 from 7:00 a.m.-8:00 p.m. in the city of Independence, Minnesota.

LEGAL NOTICECITY OF INDEPENDENCE
The Planning Commission will hold a public hearing in the Council Chambers at 1920 County Road 90 on Tuesday February 18, 2020 at 7:30 p.m. to review the following request:
1. PUBLIC HEARING: Daryl Jorgenson (Applicant) and Mary Jorgenson (Owner) request that the City consider the following action for the property located at 4594 Shady Beach Circle, Independence, MN (PID No. 02-118-24-21-0029):
a. A variance to allow the subdivision of property zoned RR-Rural Residential that does not meet all applicable requirements. The proposed subdivision would create four (4) lots on the subject property.
b. Preliminary Plat approval.
2. PUBLIC HEARING: 2040 Comprehensive Plan:
a. The City will review and consider adoption of the 2040 Comprehensive Plan subject to the approval of the Metropolitan Council. Key changes to the plan include changes to sewered residential zoning districts which will provide some redevelopment possibilities to several strategic areas.
3. PUBLIC HEARING: A proposed text amendment to the City of Independence Ordinances as follows:
a. Chapter 5, Section 510.05, Definitions and 530 Zoning District Provisions – Considering an amendment to the several definitions relating to permitted land uses in various districts and to consider amendment of permitted, accessory and conditional land uses in each district.
The items highlighted above may have a direct or indirect effect on your property. All persons wishing to be heard with reference to these applications will be given the opportunity at this meeting. Written comments can be directed to City Hall, 1920 County Road 90, Independence, MN 55359. Plans will be available for review at the City Office prior to the meeting (please call ahead to ensure that the plans are on file).
