Regular Meeting of the Board of Education
Independent School District 879, Delano Public Schools
The regular meeting of the Board of Education of Independent School District 879, Delano, Minnesota, was held on Monday, Jan. 27, 2020, at Delano City Hall. The meeting was called to order by the chair at 5:45 p.m. with the following members in attendance: Johnson, Rosenow, Black, Seguin, Roeser, Depa and Briesemeister. Absent: None.
APPROVAL OF MEETING AGENDA (approved unanimously)
WORK SESSION
Board reviewed discussion items: DC/NY trip in March of 2021, Spain trip in March of 2021, robotics trip March of 2020, policy review, MSBA local control resolution, MSBA Phase I and II training, MSBA Leadership Conference debrief.
PROGRAM REVIEW
Wright Technical Center (Brian Koslofsky).
CONSENT AGENDA (approved unanimously)
Board approved the meeting minutes from Dec. 16, 2019, and Jan. 6, 2020, and the current budget status with year-to-date adjustments, investment transactions, construction bond investment transactions, wire transfers, Minnesota Liquid Asset Fund, cash report, revenue and expense fund totals, expense reports and disbursements.
RESOLUTION OF ACCEPTANCE OF GIFTS (approved unanimously)
PERSONNEL (approved unanimously)
Board approved retirements/resignations/terminations and recommendations for employment, including:
Retirements/Resignations/Terminations: Head girls soccer coach, DHS teacher. Recommendations for Employment: Fourth-grade teacher, long-term substitute preschool teacher, fall musical booster-paid coach, DES paraprofessional, substitute nurse, boys basketball scorebook keeper.
ADMINISTRATIVE AND BOARD REPORTS
Board heard the following administrative reports: Superintendent Schoen reported on the budget reduction process, development of flex learning plans and the 2020-21 school calendar. B. Voight reported on the Semester Celebration, the development of classroom libraries, staff collaboration efforts and the cultural competency workshop. S. Heil reported on the registration process and upcoming events like Winterfest Week, Pennies for Patients and the Polar Plunge. D. Schuler reported on the opera residency, the January theme of the month, literacy classroom visits and discussions following the cultural competency workshop. M. Reeder reported that the district is going out for 2020-21 lawn mowing proposals. D. Johnson reported on the new community education website, Dr. Ramon Pastrano’s community presentation, the elementary play and various other programs and events. Board heard reports from: MAWSECO, the Wright Technical Center, the Professional Development Committee, and Schools for Equity in Education.
OLD BUSINESS (approved unanimously)
Board approved the second read of Policy 516 – Student Medication, due to substantive and legal reference changes.
NEW BUSINESS
Board approved the DHS jazz band trip to Bemidji, the MSBA local control resolution, and the first read of three policies due to substantive changes: Policy 420 - Students and Employees with Sexually Transmitted Infections and Diseases and Certain Other Communicable Diseases and Infectious Conditions; Policy 422 - Policies Incorporated by Reference; and Policy 513 - Student Promotion, Retention and Program Design.

The regular meeting of the Board of Education of Independent School District 879, Delano, Minnesota, was held on Monday, Feb. 24, 2020, at Delano City Hall. The meeting was called to order by the chair at 5:47 p.m. with the following members in attendance: Johnson, Black, Seguin and Briesemeister. (Rosenow arrived at 5:50 p.m., Depa arrived at 6:04 p.m. and Roeser arrived at 6:05 p.m.) Absent: None.

WORK SESSION
Board reviewed discussion items: 2020-21 school calendar, policy review, City-School Committee, Finance Committee, Student School Board Representatives, March 16 board listening session, March special meeting date.
PROGRAM REVIEW
I Love to Read Month (Delano Elementary School students and staff).
CONSENT AGENDA (approved unanimously)
Board approved the meeting minutes from Jan. 27, 2020, and the current budget status with year-to-date adjustments, investment transactions, construction bond investment transactions, wire transfers, Minnesota Liquid Asset Fund, cash report, revenue and expense fund totals, expense reports and disbursements.
RESOLUTION OF ACCEPTANCE OF GIFTS (approved unanimously)
PERSONNEL (approved unanimously)
Board approved retirements/resignations/terminations, recommendations for employment, contract changes/approvals/position changes, and leaves of absence, including: Retirements/Resignations/Terminations: DES paraprofessional, TKC classroom teacher. Recommendations for Employment: JO volleyball coach (2), boys varsity soccer coach, food service substitute, TKC student aide, ECFE student worker. Contract Changes/Approvals/Position Changes: Agreement to continue MOA for additional duty day. Leaves of Absence: DES principal.
ADMINISTRATIVE AND BOARD REPORTS
Board heard the following administrative reports: Superintendent Schoen thanked board members for their service as part of School Board Recognition Week. B. Voight reported on minor adjustments for next year, an application to continue to Math Corps program and peer group discussions with fellow principals. S. Heil reported on Pennies for Patients, Suicide Awareness and Prevention Week and upcoming student surveys. G. Hinker reported on I Love to Read Month activities, the author visit, and professional development efforts regarding literacy and positive behavioral and emotional supports. M. Reeder shared that the district is accepting bids for lawn mowing until Feb. 28. D. Johnson reported on the community theatre performances, the elementary play, a survey on TAC hours, and various youth enrichment activities and programs. Board heard reports from: MAWSECO, the Wright Technical Center, the Professional Development Committee and the District Advisory Committee.
OLD BUSINESS (approved unanimously)
Board approved the second read of three policies due to substantive changes: Policy 420 - Students and Employees with Sexually Transmitted Infections and Diseases and Certain Other Communicable Diseases and Infectious Conditions; Policy 422 - Policies Incorporated by Reference; and Policy 513 - Student Promotion, Retention and Program Design.
NEW BUSINESS (approved unanimously)
Board approved the robotics trip to Duluth in March of 2020, the trip to Washington, D.C., and New York in March of 2021, the trip to Spain in March of 2021, the first and only read of Policy 426 – Affordable Care Act (ACA) Compliance Policy, due to non-substantive changes; and the first read of the following policies due to substantive and legal references changes: Policy 419 - Tobacco-Free Environment; Possession and Use of Tobacco, Tobacco-Related Devices, and Electronic Delivery Devices; Policy 501 - School Weapons Policy; and Policy 534 - Unpaid Meal Charges.

CITY OF LORETTO
NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
Official notice is hereby given, that the Loretto City Council will hold a public hearing on the Annual Storm Water Pollution Prevention Program (SWPPP) on Tuesday, April 14, 2020 at Loretto City Hall, 279 N. Medina Street, Council Chambers at 7:30 p.m., or as soon as the matter may be heard. The purpose of the SWPPP Annual Meeting is to discuss the progress of implementing the program.
All persons wishing to be heard shall appear at this time. Written comments are also solicited. Information is available for review at City Hall.

This is public notice of a disposition and collateral judgment against Darrell Judkins and Victoria Judkins of 1990 Joel D Lane New Prague, Minnesota for the amount of $163,205,494.00 on October 7th, 2019 for the violations of the City of Albertville ordinances, Minnesota State Statutes and U.S.C.
