Notice is hereby given that the Delano City Council will hold a public hearing at 7:00 p.m. or as soon thereafter on Monday, August 10, 2020 at the Delano City Hall, located at 234 2nd Street North, for the purpose of considering a preliminary plat and final plat entitled D C Ranch creating 5 single family lots on 16.61 acres.in Delano Minnesota.
Legal Description:
That part of the Northeast Quarter of the Northeast Quarter and the Southeast Quarter on the Northeast Quarter on Section 10, Township 118, Range 25, Wright County Minnesota, that lies south of the centerline of Southeast 72nd Street and north of the northerly right of way line of the Burlington Northern Railroad.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Public Accuracy Test of the DS200 ballot counter and the AutoMARK assistive voting device for the City of Delano, to be used for the August 11, 2020 State Primary election, will be conducted at the Delano City Hall, 234 2nd Street North, Delano, MN beginning at 9:00am on Wednesday, July 29, 2020. The Public Accuracy Test is open to the public.

MINUTESRegular Meeting of the Board of EducationIndependent School District 879, Delano Public Schools
The regular meeting of the Board of Education of Independent School District 879, Delano, Minnesota, was held on Monday, June 22, 2020, via teleconference. The meeting was called to order by the chair at 5:47 p.m. with the following members in attendance: Johnson, Black, Seguin, Rosenow, Depa, Roeser and Briesemeister. Absent: None.
APPROVAL OF MEETING AGENDA (approved unanimously)
WORK SESSION
Board reviewed discussion items: proposed student athletics participation guidelines, Boardbook updates, policy review, and reports from the Community Ed. Advisory Committee and the Reopening Task Force.
PROGRAM REVIEW
Q-Comp Program (Maria Menz and Meghan Gibas)
CONSENT AGENDA (approved unanimously)
Board approved the meeting minutes from May 18 and 28, 2020, and the current budget status with year-to-date adjustments, investment transactions, construction bond investment transactions, wire transfers, Minnesota Liquid Asset Fund, cash report, revenue and expense fund totals, expense reports and disbursements.
RESOLUTION OF ACCEPTANCE OF GIFTS (approved unanimously)
PERSONNEL (approved unanimously)
Board approved retirements/resignations/terminations, recommendations for employment, contract changes/approvals/position changes, and leaves of absence, including: Retirements/Resignations/Terminations: TKC classroom aide (2), TAC monitor, DES paraprofessional, one act play director and DHS special education teacher. Recommendations for Employment: 7-8 yearbook advisor, 9-12 Student Council advisor, musical director, one act play director, ninth-grade football coach, girls soccer coach. Contracted new hires: DHS special education teacher, first-grade teacher, DHS social studies teacher, DIS ADSIS skills teacher, basic skills reading interventionist, DHS special education teacher. Contract Changes/Approvals/Position Changes: 2020-22 contracts or agreements with the principals, business manager, HR compensation/benefits specialist, superintendent and school board assistant/communications coordinator, payroll specialist, accountant, building and grounds coordinator, technology support specialist (2), technology support specialist/coordinator, community education director, early childhood programs coordinator. Leaves of Absence: Fourth-grade teacher, DIS paraprofessional, administrative assistant, DES principal, DHS custodian.
ADMINISTRATIVE AND BOARD REPORTS
Board heard the following administrative reports: Superintendent Schoen reported on the Reopening Task Force objectives and the formation of an advisory committee that includes students and parents. B. Voight reported on hiring for 2020-21, professional development efforts, his transition to the high school and his replacement at the intermediate school by J. Vieau. Superintendent Schoen conveyed a message of thanks from S. Heil, who has left his principal position at the high school to become the superintendent at St. James. D. Schuler reported on construction at the elementary, use of the elementary facility by Tiger Kids Club, summer school participation, and extraordinary teacher efforts district-wide. M. Reeder reported on the candidate filing period in July and August. D. Johnson reported on the re-opening of certain programs and facilities with additional safety restrictions. Board heard reports from: MAWSECO, the Wright Technical Center, and the Professional Development committee.
OLD BUSINESS (approved unanimously)
Board approved the second read of Policy 506 - Student Discipline, and the second read of Policy 512 - School Sponsored Student Publications, due to substantive changes.
NEW BUSINESS (approved unanimously)
Board approved the 2020-21 DES and DIS student handbooks, the original 2020-21 budget, a 10-year long-term facilities maintenance plan and LTFM plan resolution, a revised FY20 long-term facilities maintenance expenditure budget, meal prices for 2020-21, resolutions calling for a general election and special election, a resolution establishing dates for filing affidavits of candidacy, a resolution updating the school district population, the designation of a stove/oven as surplus property, the first and only read of Policy 517 – Student Recruiting, due to non-substantive changes; and the first reads of Policy 514 – Bullying Prohibition Policy, and Policy 515 – Protection and Privacy of Pupil Records, along with Policy 515-F.
The meeting was closed to discuss the superintendent evaluation at 8:21 p.m.
The meeting adjourned at 9:30 p.m. The preceding is a summary of the unofficial minutes.
