6:00 PM SPECIAL BOARD MEETING, FEBRUARY 10, 2020
BOARD ROOM
In partnership with our communities and families, we will educate and inspire all learners to maximize their potential, promote lifelong learning, and become contributing members of society.
Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a special meeting of the Board of Education of Independent School District No. 466 (Dassel-Cokato, Minnesota) was duly held in the Dassel-Cokato Board Room, Cokato, Minnesota, on Monday, February 10, 2020.
Aho called the meeting to order at 6:00 PM.
The following members were present: Sangren, Grochow, Nelson, Bender, Engh and Aho. The following were absent: none.
Motion by Sangren, seconded by Bender, approving the agenda as printed. Motion carried unanimously.
Four representatives from the community groups formed to discuss bond items presented the overall recommendation to the board which was followed by discussion with no conclusion.
Being no further business, the meeting adjourned at 7:17 pm.

6:00 PM REGULAR BOARD MEETING, FEBRUARY 24, 2020
DASSEL-COKATO BOARD ROOM
In partnership with our communities and families, we will educate and inspire all learners to maximize their potential, promote lifelong learning, and become contributing members of society.
Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a regular meeting of the Board of Education of Independent School District No. 466 (Dassel-Cokato, Minnesota) was duly held in the Dassel-Cokato Board Room, Cokato, Minnesota, on Monday, February 24, 2020.
Aho called the meeting to order at 6:00 PM.
The following members were present: Aho, Sangren, Engh, Grochow, Nelson and Bender. The following were absent: none.
The meeting began with the pledge of allegiance.
Motion by Grochow, seconded by Nelson, approving the agenda as printed. Motion carried unanimously.
Motion by Bender, seconded by Engh, approving payment of bills as presented including payroll, hand payables and contingency totaling $2,073,623.66 Motion carried unanimously. (A complete list of bills is available from the District Office for review.)

Curriculum Advisory Committee (CAC) Report: None
MAWSECO Report: None
Community Education Report: None
Business Manager’s Report: Business Manager Palmer reported expenditures are in line with budget through the end of the eighth month of the fiscal year and reviewed the investment report with the board.
Student Representative’s Report: Written
Superintendent’s Report: Powers reported on School Bus Driver Appreciation Day and Summer Projects (road, parking lot, pool).
Program Report – Activities / Community Education Director Thinesen and Program Coordinator Lang presented updates in both areas.

Motion by Nelson, seconded by Engh, approving all consent items: Minutes from January 27, 2020 Regular Board Meeting and the February 10, 2020 Special Board Meeting. Approval of wire transfers made on January 28th for $250,000, January 31st for $1,090,000, February 10th for $200,000 and February 14th for $800,000.
Personnel items: Approve the list of Spring coaches/advisors, Employment of Lisa Kinnunen as an ECSE Paraeducator, Employment of Lauren Cady as a Type III sub driver, Reassignment of Anna Carlen from sub to contracted Type III driver, Reassignment of Jessalyn Nikula from sub to contracted Type III driver, Resignation of Hiedi Taina as Dassel Elementary Food Service Cook effective 2/24/2020. Acceptance of Donations From:
DC Basketball Association - $5,470 for basketball equipment, DC Basketball Association - $1,000 to the Boys Basketball program, AdoptAClassroom.org & Caitlin Tegels - $600 to MS Band program, Overtime Ink - $76 to the Cross Country program, DC Speech Boosters - $1,300 for the Harvard speech trip, an Anonymous donor -$500 for the Harvard speech trip, CAF America 3M & Tiffany Bollin - $40.75 to Dassel Elementary, AWI Manufacturing Inc. - $500 to the Robotics program, Meeker Cooperative Electric Trust - $2,000 to the Scholarship fund, Wells Fargo Your Cause & Rachel Yates - $70 to NHS, Wells Fargo Your Cause & Rachel Yates - $70 to the HS Music program, Wells Fargo Your Cause & Rachel Yates - $150 for general use by the district, Andy & Vicki Engh - $1,371 to the Middle School Connections program. Motion carried unanimously.
Motion by Engh, seconded by Nelson, approving the revised 2019-20 budget. Business Manager Palmer presented revisions and anticipated fund balance changes. Motion carried unanimously.
Motion by Bender, seconded by Grochow, approving an out-of-state trip for DECA. Motion carried unanimously.
Chair Aho moved the March regular meeting from March 23 to March 17.
Being no further business, the meeting adjourned at 7:47 PM.
