Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a regular meeting of the Board of Education of Independent School District No. 466 (Dassel-Cokato, Minnesota) was duly held in the Dassel-Cokato High School Media Center, Cokato, Minnesota, on Monday, August 24, 2020.
Aho called the meeting to order at 6:00 PM.
The following members were present: Aho, Sangren, Engh, Grochow, Nelson and Bender. The following were absent: none
The meeting began with the pledge of allegiance.
Motion by Sangren, seconded by Bender, approving the agenda as written. Motion carried unanimously.
Motion by Grochow, seconded by Nelson, approving payment of bills as presented including payroll, hand payables and contingency totaling $1,746,238.31. Motion carried unanimously. (A complete list of bills is available from the District Office for review.)

Business Manager’s Report: Business Manager Palmer reported expenditures are in line with budget through the end of the twelfth month of the fiscal year, reviewed the investment report with the board, and gave an update on MARSS reporting for 2019-20.

Superintendent Powers and the principals presented on 2020-21 school year planning.
Policies #301, 302, 304, 305, 402, 403, 406, 409, 416, 417, 418, 420, 421, 423, 424, 425 were reviewed for a second time.
Motion by Bender, seconded by Nelson, eliminating use of school facilities by outside groups with a review of the decision each trimester or sooner if necessary. Motion carried unanimously.
Motion by Engh, seconded by Nelson, approving the low bid of $37,134.99 from Builders First Source for the 20-21 Vocational House. Motion carried unanimously.
Motion by Sangren, seconded by Grochow, approving the 2020-22 Transportation Contract with Cokato Transportation. Changes in the contract include:
. 1% increase for 20-21
. 2% increase for 21-22
. A change to the fuel clause language lowering the price per gallon range
. The opportunity to extend the contract for 2 more years with a 2% increase each year
Motion carried unanimously.
Policy #522 Title IX Sex Nondiscrimintion Policy, Grievance Procedure and Process was presented for a first reading.
Motion by Sangren, seconded by Grochow, approving the Transportation Roster of Drivers for the 2020-2021 school year. Motion carried unanimously.
Chairman Aho added an 8/31 6:00 pm special closed meeting for superintendent evaluation.
Being no further business, the meeting adjourned at 8:10 pm.

Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a special meeting of the Board of Education of Independent School District No. 466 (Dassel-Cokato, Minnesota) was duly held in the Dassel-Cokato High School Media Center Room, Cokato, Minnesota, on Monday, August 31, 2020.
Aho called the meeting to order at 6:00 PM.
The following members were present: Sangren, Nelson, Bender, Engh, Grochow, and Aho. The following were absent: none.
Superintendent Powers lead an update on Fall 2020 with support from the from principals and the Covid 19 Coordinator.
Motion by Grochow, seconded by Nelson, approving the district supporting participation in all extracurricular activities with appropriate safety precautions. Motion passed 5-1 with Bender dissenting.
Being no further business, the meeting adjourned at 7:47 pm.

Public HearingCity of Cokato Planning Commission and City Council
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the City of Cokato Planning and Zoning Commission, Wright County, Minnesota will conduct a public hearing on Monday, October 19, 2020 at 6:00 p.m. in the council chambers at Cokato City Hall, 255 Broadway Ave S, Cokato, Minnesota 55321, to consider the following request:
Request of Gary Peterson for a variance from the required rear yard setback of 20 feet to 3 feet and a variance to allow lot coverage of 44% which is greater than the 30% that is allowed. The property is at the address 410 Jenks Avenue SW. The request is being sought to build an building enclosure between the garage and the house.
The Cokato City Council will be reviewing the item and holding a public hearing on the matter at their meeting at 7:00 p.m. on Monday October 19, 2020 council chambers at Cokato City Hall, 255 Broadway Ave S, Cokato, Minnesota 55321.
