STATE OF MINNESOTACOUNTY OF MCLEODNOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
YOU ARE HEREBY notified that a regular meeting of the McLeod County Planning Commission will be held on Wednesday, the 23rd day of June 2021 beginning at 9:30 a.m. in the Large Conference Room of the McLeod County Environmental Services Building at 1065 5th Avenue SE, Hutchinson, Minnesota. The purpose of this public hearing is to hear of the proposed amendments to the McLeod County Zoning Ordinance regarding Provisions for Major Essential Services Regulations structures (including Solar Array Systems) on more than three (3) acres shall only be allowed on land that is considered hard to farm. To view the complete proposed amendments in detail, a copy will be available in the County Environmental Services Office and the County Auditor’s Office.
Section 5 – Definitions and Rules of Language Construction
Subdivision 2: Definitions
Solar Energy System. A solar energy system whose primary purpose is to harvest energy by transforming solar energy into another form of energy or transferring heat from a collector to another medium using mechanical, electrical, or chemical means.

Subdivision 5: Provisions for Major Essential Service Construction
B. Major Essential Service structures (including Solar Array Systems) on more than three (3) acres shall only be allowed on land that is considered hard to farm per the following criteria:
· Small size or irregular shape
· Physical isolation from other farm fields by roads, steep hills, ditches or similar features.
· Wooded, as defined herein.
· Containing steep slopes, wetlands, or other environmentally sensitive features.

Attention: Residents of the City of Waverly
PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that in accordance with Sections 90.35-90.47 of the Waverly City Code of Ordinances, property owners are responsible to eliminate and remove from their property all long grass and weeds and other rank growths of vegetation in excess of 8 inches in height.
Non-compliance with this ordinance may cause the city to assume the project and assess the costs to affected properties.

REASON A VARIANCE IS NEEDED: Expansion/replacement of a non-conforming structure, Minimum setbacks are 100’ from ordinary highwater mark of a Recreational Development Lake; 65’ from centerline of town road. Lowest floor of dwelling must be 4’ above the highest water level.
