Thomas Anthony Laxen obituary


Thomas Anthony Laxen, age 55, of rural Winsted died Sunday,
Nov. 16, 1997 at his residence in Victor Township.
He was born in Winsted Township, McLeod County on October
24, 1942, the son of Henry and Rose (Otto) Laxen.
Thomas graduated in 1960 from the Howard Lake High School.
Tom was a Vietnam War Veteran having honorably served in
the United States Army from 1964 until 1966. He was a member of VFW Post
#9232 in Winsted.
Tom was currently employed by Metro Systems as an office
equipment installer. He had been formerly employed by Sterner Industries,
by Sterner Lighting, and by Gambles.
He is survived by brothers and sisters: Herman B. (Phyllis)
Laxen of San Rafael, Calif.; Marcella (Floyd) Weibel of Winsted; Vince J.
(Ceil) Laxen of Winsted; Mary Teresa Koester of Princeton, Minn.
He is further survived by an uncle, several aunts, nieces,
nephews, other relatives, friends and by his faithful companion Brandy.

He was preceded in death by his parents Henry and Rose
Laxen, and by three brothers: Raymond, Mickey, and James.
A memorial service for Thomas Laxen was held on Saturday,
Nov. 22 at 11:00 a.m. at the Chilson Funeral Home in Winsted. Francis J.
Eggert was the service’s commentator. Mary Behrens was the service’s organist.
A gathering of family and friends took place at the funeral
home on Saturday morning one hour prior to the memorial service.
The Chilson Funeral Home in Winsted served the family.
