Hilda Marie Wolter obituary 10/26/98


Funeral services for Hilda M. Wolter, age 85 of Lester
Prairie, were on Thursday, Oct. 29, 1998 at the Evangelical Church of Christ
in Lester Prairie.
Hilda Marie Wolter was born the daughter of William F.
and Martha (Karneth) Noll on Feb. 4, 1913 in Norwood, Minn. She was baptized
on Feb. 15, 1913 by the Rev. Paul Quander. Hilda was later confirmed in
her faith on June 15, 1927 at the Friedens United Church of Christ in rural
Norwood by the Rev. Ernst Mueller.
Hilda grew up on the family farm in rural Norwood. On May
24, 1931, Hilda was united in marriage to William J. Wolter at the Zion
Evangelical Church of rural Norwood.
The couple lived near Green Isle, Minn. before moving to
rural Lester Prairie in 1942. In 1986, William and Hilda moved to an apartment
in Lester Prairie.
Hilda was a member of the Evangelical United Church of
Christ in Lester Prairie. She enjoyed collecting recipes, playing cards,
gardening and raising flowers, and spending time with her many grandchildren
and great-grandchildren. Hilda was always sure to bring a pan of her famous
chocolate brownies to any family gathering.
On Monday, Oct. 26, 1998, Hilda entered eternal rest at
the age of 85 years, eight months, and 22 days. She is preceded in death
by her parents; her husband William; a daughter, Mavis Wolter; a son, Harlan
Wolter; three brothers: Clarence, Herbert and William Noll; and a son-in-law,
Hillard Latzke.
Hilda is survived by her children, Clara Latzke of Lester
Prairie, Don Wolter (wife Donna) of Arlington, Shirley Kloempken (husband
Gary) of Gaylord, and Marlin Wolter (wife Sena) of Brooklyn Park; her daughter-in-law,
Myra Wolter of New Germany; grandchildren: Steven Latzke (wife Joanne) of
Chaska, Kathryn Remus (husband Daris) of Chaska, Keith Latzke (wife Cindy)
of Lester Prairie, Greg Latzke of Lester Prarie, Tamara Weik (husband David)
of Cincinnati, Ohio; Kimberly Gueningsman (husband Randy) of Rock Rapids,
Iowa; Debora Mahnke (husband Steven) of Farmington, Deena Safarik (husband
James) of Alexandria, Darren Kloempken of Minneapolis, Sarah Castillo of
Gaylord, Charlie Kloempken of Arlington, and Kerry Hemerick (husband Stephen)
of New Auburn, Minn.
She is further survived by her great-grandchildren: Renae
Hoernemann (husband Bob), Gwen and Brian Latzke, Christopher and Michelle
Remus, Ashley and Jason Latzke, Ellie and Laura Weik, Amber and Grant Gueningsman,
Emily Safarik, Dominic Castillo, Kelsey and Jacob Hemerick; in-laws: Harold
and Erna Wolter, Wilbert Wolter, Edna Wolter, Ann Wolter, Mabel Wolter and
Bertha Noll; as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
The Rev. Parker Trostel officiated at the funeral services.
The organist was Marie Eischens. Congregational hymns were “Savior
Like A Shepherd Lead Us,” “I’m But A Stranger Here” and “Amazing
Grace.” Visitation was Wednesday evening at the Paul-McBride Funeral
Chapel in Lester Prairie.
Casketbearers were Greg Latzke, Steven Latzke, Keith Latzke,
Darren Kloempken, Charlie Kloempken, and and Christopher Remus. Honorary
casketbearers were Hilda’s granddaughters. Interment was in the Forest Hill
Cemetery in Norwood Young America.
