Myrtle Irene Hardy, age 75 of Cokato, died Wednesday, Aug.
16, 2000, at Cokato Manor.
Myrtle was born Aug. 25, 1924, in Cokato Township, the
daughter of Arthur and Lillian (Tuey) Pettit. She was baptized at the First
Baptist Church of Cokato.
She grew up on a farm northeast of Cokato, and attended
Watson School, then Cokato High School.
Myrtle married Lawrence Hardy Dec. 30, 1940, and they lived
and farmed in the Cokato area.
She was employed at Fabri-Tek for 22 years and retired
in 1989.
Myrtle and Lawrence have lived at the Cokato Apartments
for the past four years. She enjoyed and loved her flower garden.
Survivors include her husband Lawrence of Cokato; sons,
Ken (Linda) of Cokato, and Tom of Billings, Mont.; daughter, Sue (Dave)
Brook of Watertown, S.D.; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and
brothers, Don (Gert) and Stan (Betsy) Pettit of Howard Lake.
Myrtle was preceded in death by her parents.
Funeral services were Saturday, Aug. 19, 1:30 p.m., at
First Baptist Church of Cokato with the Rev. Dan Swanson officiating. Music
was provided by Jan Ostroot, Dr. Scott Anderson: trombone, and Jean Paulson,
solo. Interment was at the Cokato City Cemetery.
Visitation was Friday, Aug. 18, 4 to 8 p.m., at the Swanson-Peterson
Funeral Home, Cokato.
Jay Pettit, Jim Pettit, Jess Pettit, Lowel Pettit, Glen
Pettit, and Ron Payne served as casket bearers.
