Myles “Mick” H. Sullivan obituary 1/4/99


Myles “Mick” H. Sullivan of Richfield, Minn.
passed away Jan. 4, 1999 at Methodist Hospital, St. Louis Park, Minn. at
the age of 67 years and one day.
Mick was born Jan. 3, 1932 to Harry and Della (Tronnier)
Sullivan in Minneapolis, Minn. He attended Sacred Heart, St. Albert the
Great, Church of the Incarnation, Bryant Junior High School, and Vocational
High School. He also attended the University of Minnesota for electrical
engineering classes.
Mick was a member of the senior branch of the Boy Scout
sea scouts. He served in the naval reserve at the Naval Air Center in Minneapolis
for three years, as well as performing two years of active duty in the United
States Navy.
On May 4, 1963, Mick was united in marriage to Marlene
Ristow at The Church of the Incarnation in Minneapolis. The marriage was
blessed with two daughters.
Mick was employed at Electric Machinery in Minneapolis
for 43 years as a master electrician and as a test engineer.
In his retirement, Mick enjoyed woodworking, fishing, traveling
with his family, and spending time with his children and grandchildren.
Mick is preceded in death by his wife Marlene; parents,
Harry and Della Sullivan; Marlene’s parents, Ernst and Helma Ristow; and
Lillian Hoof.
He is survived by daughters, Lisa and Allen Stender of
Lester Prairie and Peggy Sullivan of Winsted; grandchildren, Spenser and
Rachel Stender; brother, Ronald Sullivan of Temple, Texas; nephews, Brian
Sullivan of Galveston, Texas and Terrence Sullivan of Richardson, Texas;
as well as other loving relatives and many friends.
Funeral services were at St. Richard’s Catholic Community
in Richfield, Minn. with the Rev. Greg Esty. Interment followed at Resurrection
Catholic Cemetery, Mendota Heights, Minn.
Peggy Sullivan, Lisa and Allen Stender placed the schroede;
Spenser and Rachel Stender placed the cross, and Ron Sullivan placed the
Book of Wisdom on the casket. “The Hand of God Shall Hold You,”
“On Eagles Wings,” “This Day in New Jerusalem,” and
“Jesus, Remember Me” were sung by the congregation.
Casket bearers were Gene Keller, Chuck Sundby, Craig Fawley,
Bob Willmsen, Michael Stender and Terrence Sullivan. Honorary casket bearers
were Brian Sullivan and George Dumas.
Friends called at the Morris Nilsen Funeral Home on Thursday,
Jan. 8 from 4 to 9 p.m.
