Jerry P. Hugo
Jerry P. Hugo, age 40, Dassel, passed away tragically Saturday,
May 12, 2001. He had reached the age of 40 years, 3 months and 20 days.

Jerry was born on January 22, 1961, in St. Louis Park,
to Lowell and Gwenn (Jones) Hugo. Jerry was baptized at Nokomis Lutheran
Church, Minneapolis.
Jerry graduated from Dassel-Cokato High School in 1979.
He was married to Janet Gruenhagen in St. James Lutheran Church, Howard
Lake, in 1981. To this union one son, Calvin, was born.
Jerry started working at Mid-America Diary, Winsted, at
the age of 18, and became a member of the Teamster’s Union. He worked there
for 20 years. For the past three years, Jerry was working at Millerbernd
Manufacturing, Winsted, as an Industrial Maintenance Engineer.
Jerry had a great love for the outdoors. He belonged to
the Rainbow Sportsmen Club, Cokato. He was an avid gun collector and target
shooter, and also worked with radio controlled cars, winning awards doing
this. Jerry always loved spending time at “the farm.” Kids enjoyed
spending time with Jerry, as he “loved to play.”
Jerry is survived by his wife, Janet, and son, Calvin of
Dassel; parents, Lowell and Gwenn Hugo of Dassel; twin brother, Jeff (Sharon)
Hugo of Rosemount; sisters, Joni of Willmar, and Jennine (Kevin) Heid; 16
nieces and nephews; Godchildren, Matt Gruenhagen, Josh Hugo, and Brad Paulson.
Jerry was preceded in death by his grandparents and brother-in-law
Dwight Carlen.
A Mass of Christian Burial was conducted on Thursday, May
17, 10:30 a.m., at St. John’s Catholic Church, Darwin, with the Rev. Patrick
L. Casey officiating.
Casketbearers were Jeff Hugo, Joe Carlen, Darrin Krohn,
Kevin Heid, Gerald “Buda” Gruenhagen, and Reggie Prokosch.
Interment was at Howard Lake Cemetery. Arrangements were
made by Swanson-Peterson Funeral Home.
