Charlotte Ida “Lottie” Jenneke
Charlotte Ida “Lottie” Jenneke, age 91, formerly
of Lester Prairie, died Friday, Aug. 10, 2001, at St. Mary’s Care Center.
She was born near Arlington Jan. 6, 1910, the daughter
of Fred and Emma Dose Diehn.
Charlotte was baptized Jan. 9, 1910, at Zion Lutheran Church,
Arlington, by the Rev. J. Rick, andwas instructed in the Lutheran Catechism
and confirmed in the Christian faith April 13, 1924, at First Lutheran Church,
Glencoe by the Rev. E. Kolbe.
Charlotte Diehn was joined in holy marriage to Otto Jenneke
June 30, 1929, at First Lutheran Church, Glencoe. The Rev. E. Kolbe performed
the wedding ceremony. God blessed their marriage with two children.
Lottie and Otto engaged in farming near Lester Prairie
for many years. Lottie always enjoyed her flower garden on the farm.
Otto and Lottie moved into Lester Prairie in 1979 and moved
to Winsted in 1995. Otto Jenneke preceded his wife in death Feb. 18, 2001.
Lottie was a faithful member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church
in Lester Prairie.
In addition to her husband, Charlotte was preceded in death
by her parents and an infant brother, Clarence Diehn.
Charlotte is survived by a daughter, Evelyn (LeRoy) Jungclaus
of Lester Prairie; a son, Larry Jenneke of Bloomer, Wis.; three grandsons,
two great-granddaughters, one great-grandson, two great-great grandsons,
nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Funeral Services for Charlotte “Lottie” Jenneke
were conducted Tuesday, Aug. 14, 1 p.m., at the Chilson Funeral Chapel,
Winsted. The Rev. Grant T. Bode officiated, and interment followed at St.
Paul’s Lutheran Cemetery, Lester Prairie.
Friends called at the funeral home Monday, Aug. 13 from
4 to 8 p.m.
A Prayer Service took place Monday evening, Aug. 13, at
7:30 p.m.
Jane Holasek was the organist for the funeral service.
“Just as I Am, Without One Plea,” “I’m But a Stranger Here,”
and “How Great Thou Art” were sung as congregational hymns.
Jeff Jenneke, Jason Jenneke, Elford Stern, Gary Jungclaus,
Melvin Dose, and Clarence Comnick served as the casket bearers.
The Chilson Funeral Chapel in Winsted served the family.
